there's a fundamental difference between the n word and the word cracker
the n word was used as a synonym for subhuman, to denote a person's blackness aka inferiority in the white people's minds. calling someone a ****** relegated them to the ranks of monkeys and gorillas.
the word cracker has no such racist undertone and history of putting down white people. it's a slur yes, but comparing it to the n word is simply ridiculous and foolish. 99% of white people don't even feel no type of way if u call them that.
now does that mean that i condone its usage?
idk. at the end of the day it is a racial slur even though it doesn't have the same history as the n word. and the fact is keeping the usage of this word prominent keeps its antithesis alive as well by default. i mean if you and a white guy get into it and you call him a cac, what do you think he's going to think about calling you? it has a separative, and racially charged, overtone. certainly something to consider.
