just took a look through the thread. catcher in the rye and pimp are your best bets imho. both with give you some perspective and inspire you to read more. also get a dictionary broz (with a thesaurus if possible).

The Alchemist - good ass book. really inspirational. pretty much talks about if you really want something, the world will move out your way for you to go get it. if this don't make you want to read some more, somethings wrong witchu. pretty easy read

VERY easy read. dude is a 7th grader and he's the 4th richest person in the world, but nobody knows that. he acts like this dumb little kid while he's at school. dude can control pretty much ANYTHING and anyone. there's just this one little thing, dude has daddy issues and as always wants to (he denies it) impress his father. very comedic. it's like superbad, 40 year old virgin, knocked up, those kind of movies but think middle school.

1st of all....your telling us, in 18 years of living your school never required you to read a single fiction book for English class? and you never went to the library and picked up a book before?? :usure:???

I'm sure folks would have some good choices for you though. Check Brave New World and 1984 , because they have contemporary significance right now.... once you finish reading, look at the year they were written, look up at the world and say :damn: :ohhh:

Auto-Biography of Malcolm X is interesting, though its non-fiction.... just read, read, and read.... haven't read much fiction lately in years honestly, the world supplies enough craziness to keep me amused .......

Nineteen Eighty-four, by George Orwell 1984
