This happened to me too. My folks threatened to call the cops on me and just generally hated me living at home (even though I was trying to move out and handle my business)...but would let my older sister live at home, eat food and get fat all day, and not have a job in years.

Let me guess, your sister was their first born? Parents play favorites with their children, it's disgusting but a weakness they cannot overcome.

Hmm good question. Not too sure how to answer it. My folks help by providing shelter but I wouldn't see they are necessarily helping my situation. It's tough to answer that question because I'm not too sure what my situation is

shyt just dawned on me this morning. Like I could of sworn when I was 17 I vowed to move out around 23...but I'm still fukking here. I even peeped my folks giving me that get the fukk out our house look a few times. But real talk, this is my new mission, I gotta get outta here. Hopefully the next thread I make will be in my apartment.

Dude, you have to move out and start your life. You're 25. You realize that your time here is limited.

Also, kill that fear bullsh!t. If you're young, childless, and have a good head on your shoulders your only fear should be wasting so much potential.

If you, or any other Coli heads need help relocating hit me up. I know some trade secrets about getting gigs in hot markets. Anyone trying to get to Chicago can crash on my couch while they hit up interviews.

As long as you have a plan on what you're trying to accomplish then nah, not really.

Sure it's a blow to the ego, but if you're helping out around the house with bills, etc. and saving you shouldn't really feel bad about it IMHO.

Just get your finances straight. What's the point of moving out to just come back later?

I hear what you're saying. A buddy of mine actually gave me some good advice I completely forgot about, I'll share it. He told me that the day I decide to move out has to be the day I realize I'm never moving back in. Don't move out just to move back in six months later. I'm gonna stick to that

Had a job, yea I help out around here, I can cook, don't have to be told to do chores, I'd say I'm pretty much out of my folk's hair but I'm sure they question what I plan on doing for the rest of my life and I think I'm now seeing the beginning of them slowly tryna motivate me to get shyt going for myself

Stay at home until you get a GREAT permanent job/ can buy a house/condo, save your money who cares what other people think, dudes going broke trying to show off

If your at home focus on getting your credit in check, your schooling finished(trades/certs) w.e.... if you can, I'm 23 and I would be home too if there were a lot of jobs in my friend near my parents.
