I agree with everything he said, especially the part about fake social interaction with people you don't know. This is why I avoid socializing at work.
I'm 47 and my circle basically consists of my wife and our dog.
i think school plays a trick on everyone into thinking people are natural socialites
most people in the past knew their family and probably 2-3 neighbors tops and only heard about things happening outside of that locality sparingly
so we go to school get convinced to not just excel in school but also be prom king/queen and keep in touch with questionable teachers for 10-20 years
then you either go off to work or to higher schooling and the dynamic slowly but inevitably changes
thats why freshman year in college is so dope because its freedom from the HS dynamic but its all downhill from there socially. Everyone goes there own way eventually and trying to get people together will never be the same because the context is no longer there. And with age the newness to things goes away too
thats why you have these 40-50 somethings trying to keep it popping but in reality they are still traumatized by that HS dynamic
