Is Salvador really that good bruh? Cause I hear mix things. I've only been to SP and Rio. People have always told me u just visit Salvador but u live in Rio and work in Sampa. I gotta make it up to Bahia when I get back.

I'm a laid back dude, and Salvador has a much slower pace than Rio, plus it's mostly black and being around a vast majority of people that look similar to me is such a feeling.

Rio is a lot more modern, or at least it was when I went when you compare it to Salvador.

Speaking of Brazil, for all UK posters Ross Kemp's Extreme World has just started on Sky TV. They're saying Brazil has the highest epidemic of crack cocaine usage in the world.

Its bad in Rio and São Paulo. I used to teach this guy at his job in SP and from the train I would walk past this favela and there was a little cut below the street behind trees. I'd always see crackheads down there lighting up. A lot of crackheads and homeless folks in old downtown, Republica, Sé, São Bento, etc.

I never been to Sao Paulo, but I been to Rio and Salvador, I'd live in both but I fell in love with Salvador.

Yeah, Salvador's been calling me for the longest. The stuff I've watched and read on that place really appeals to me. Plus it's supposed to be way safer than Rio and at least for the most part you're amongst your own kind.

I'd say crime is worse in Salvador than Rio, especially right now as they clean up Rio for the WC & Olympics.

But, you'd blend in a lot easier than some white UK dude, so as long as you keep it low key I don't think you'd have much to worry about. Brazil is one of those countries where we can blend in with the population

no, criminals are not being forced out of rio, they're being forced to find different parts of rio. salvador is literally 1000 miles away from rio

it's got all the corruption of rio with half the affluence. it's a beautiful place that every single level of government has let go to shyt

naw Salvador's been dangerous for a long time...most of the black people there are poor and the minority white population runs everything...this city is majority black like 70-80% i thk but has never had a black mayor smh

smh It's crazy u said that, I just read they got more murders than São Paulo, which is 4 times its size. I really wanted to live in Salvador cause of the black population but everybody was like grind in São Paulo first and get your bread. Is there anybody trying to help the black people there? It's cool to party and kick it on the beach but are blacks there trying to get out of poverty?
