Guys, I'm upping this slightly off-topic, but this is just in case anybody here speaks portuguese and can share my outrage at those disgusting youtube comments. (It's all in portuguese).

Girl in the video is defending affirmative action for blacks. Some people in Youtube are saying that quotes for social class are more important than quotes for race, etc, which I can understand. Now other people in Youtube are being absolutely disgusting sons of bytches about it and calling her a monkey among other things :scusthov: And crying crying crying reverse racism... :stopitslime: No one even seems to look at her point of view :snoop:

This country is so racist, guys :sadbron:

Sexy and intelligent, the deadliest combo :noah: With that said, please note a) that a lot of latinos (and yes, I consider brazilians latinos) are pretty c00nish breh, and b) race in brazil, at least on the surface, isn't as big a deal as class. Whereas here in the US, a rich nikka is still a nikka. Lots of poor CACs in the favelas in Brasil from what I heard :manny:, so I could understand from a mixed/white Brazilian point of view how weird and even offensive it might seem :yeshrug:

@4fossa

Do you know anything about the real life Lil Ze? I know some of the things in the movie were embellished (I doubt he shot up a whole motel as a 10 year old with a six shooter) but did you ever grow up hearing about him and Knockout Ned and the others? Did he really get murked by a group of little kids?

Well, as far as I know, a LOT of things from the movie are made up. And the motel shootout was made by another Rio gang. They made it as him just to add drama in the movie.

Yeah, I've heard about them crazy Rio criminals from the 70's, mostly after the movie came out through.

They were all real criminals, but the movie exaggerates A LOT.

Wow. :smh: So I see it's the same over there too as it is in America and England - blacks are "alright" as long as we entertain, dance and keep our mouths shut. The minute we get out of pocket and voice displeasure about our condition and demand something to be done, then we're "reverse racists" (whatever that even means) and all the usual name calling. Something like this is obviously a threat to them. The condition of many black folk in Brazil is so staggeringly appalling, the whites over there can't make the same excuses as those in the western '1st world' countries.

I don't know portuguese, but I can pretty much guess what "quanta merda" means. That's why when I go to Brazil I'm heading to places like Salvador and mainly fukking with my people.

Yeah, I thought as much. I read that in real life Lil Ze was actually a LIKEABLE guy despite his criminality.

I've read the book and it makes the movie look like an episode of care bears. Some of the stuff in the novel is :mindblown:

Breh, nobody c00ns more than Latino nikkaz, including Brazilians, I hate to say it :manny: @4foss can vouch for Brazil, but I can personally vouch for Colombia, D.R., and Puerto Rico. Sh*t is :scusthov: status at times

yeah i'm well aware of latin speaking negras reputation for lacking black consciousness but I thought Afro Brazilians and maybe black Cubans were a little further along than their peers due to holding onto so much of their traditional African culture.

I've NEVER heard about any afro-brazilian religion that worship cacs portugueses masters. Are you sure about this shyt. :wtf:
Usually those religions bashed them.
The far that it got into cacs bussiness was things connected it christianism.

There are drug lords who are black here, or at least mixed dudes. Take Fernandinho Beiramar as an example, one of the biggest drug lords that Brazil ever had.

http://www.pop.com.br/arquivos/b/bei/beiramar060211/173040_beiramarintjpg.jpg

This dude ain't cac. :pachaha:

Usually those cacs who somehow are drug lords, are white collar dudes who got political positions and things like that. And use their position to help their drug lord game.

While researching Afro Brazilian religion last year I stumbled upon a blog which suggested some segments of Brazil's socalled Afro religious cults not only summon(become processed by) the spirits of their African ancestors for guidance but influential native(Indian) Brazilians and even Portuguese former slave holders(at times)..it could be cac propaganda though

i'm sure there are but it still speaks volumes that so many Brazilian drug lords/gang leaders whom Afro Brazilian thugs/gangmembers/drug crews take orders from are cacs.:dwillhuh:

Anyway, the c00nism here in brazil, is really something big.

But it's indeed due to the black population falling into the white propaganda.

And since there's not so much "black knowlodge" (like USA have, shyt, you guys have a whole month to think about it), black people are true brainwashed here.

But yeah, we got the "day of the black conciousness" and the holiday for Zombi dos Palmares". But that's all.

Also, Zumbi dos Palmares was a :blessed::salute: slave who did a new Django movie type of shyt and rebeled A LOT of black folk, trying to create "free black communitys" aside from the cac one.
You n1kkas should research about him.

Sad to hear but not surprising.

Latin America never had a Malcolm or MLK or civil rights movement. :manny:

Wow, is the novel all that tough?

I always found the movie too exaggerated, in a way to shock the audience and make it more appealing, and get famous (worldwide speaking).

Do you think basketball can overtake soccer in Brazil? :pachaha:

That's impossible cause a very high percentage of the population here dies for soccer. I'm really a minority with my opnion.

Funny is, when I say that I don't like soccer and prefer basketball, dudes say that It's f@ggotism :pachaha:and soccer is the ultimate manly thing.

If they knew that Americans and a lot of countries consider soccer as the official soft ass sport.

yeah i'm well aware of latin speaking negras reputation for lacking black consciousness but I thought Afro Brazilians and maybe black Cubans were a little further along than their peers due to holding onto so much of their traditional African culture.

:whoa: There are c00ns here, but at the same time, a lot of "afro militants".

I even have heard more than one time black brazilians saying that african americans are usually c00ns, because they never adress things from Africa in their music etc, when here in Brazil, afro-brazilians have always adressed Africa within their culture and music. :yeshrug:

While researching Afro Brazilian religion last year I stumbled upon a blog which suggested some segments of Brazil's socalled Afro religious cults not only summon(become processed by) the spirits of their African ancestors for guidance but influential native(Indian) Brazilians and even Portuguese former slave holders(at times)..it could be cac propaganda though

Go watch Elite Squad and you'll understand why so many cac's are the druglords here. They are usually politician or government people (corrupt, of course). So they can drible the system and stay intact.

To a guy who was raised in the favelas, for a example, became a drug lord it's obviously more difficulty to not raise attention...

Actually, the thing are usually like this, here in Brazil:

The chief of those small thugs, are a guy who lives in favela, therefore, he is usually black. And he is the example and admiration for those criminals.

The "contact" of this said chief, the guy who makes the drug enters in the hood avoiding the police and etc, are usually a cac from a higher political position, he is usually white. Putting in numbers, he is the drug-lord.

So them thugs in the favelas don't care that much about these cacs, they only know that they are the ones who made the system working, and actually, they usually don't even like them, they just stay indiferent so the system can still work.

For a didatic example, play Max Payne 3, the game got it flaws, but it shows very well the brazilian criminal scheme down here.

Sad to hear but not surprising.

Latin America never had a Malcolm or MLK or civil rights movement. :manny:

Exactly, well it got some good examples... Like the goat Zumbi dos palmares.

But Brazil got almost noone to compare to blacks from USA and what they did in the 20 century.

@4fossa Is there a chance that a soccer player could lose his life if Argentina win the world cup this summer? (Not that I want that to happen :whoa:)
