Do Africans and carribeans hang out together/get along? Are they treated differently? Do they feel differently about The UK? Do you see mixed people as black or a different race?

:mjpls:
yeah, I got alot of african friends. Growing up we used to cuss Africans alot, alot of africans were claiming jamaica or saying theyre american. But as we grew up we all got along, u know how on the surface we act like we're not brothers due to the colonial mindset. But the general undertone is black is black

When I was young, they were treated differently. In the sense it wasn't cool to be from Africa. But tbh we (caribbeans} were treated differently. I've recieved alot of prejudice by Africans .

They view the UK the same as us really, not much talk of building foundations here and taking it back home.

Its funny, the police have a code to describe black males. Which is "IC3" and mixedrace is also IC3. So I see them as black, regarding they want to be seen as black. Alot of mixedrace folk breaking off forming their own social circles, mainly due to the white supremacist, mixedrace is better than black psyche.

I was working in Stockwell towards the end of last year and the sheer amount of hipster mugs I encountered on the Victoria line was a joke.

Yeah, the estates in stockwell are still pretty bad sadly. someone got killed outside the station couple weeks ago. Donny got stabbed/shot, jumped in his car and crashed in the back of a bus. Then one of his set, caught one of the other set in prison. And filmed him gettin abused, sad shyt

you know gottdamn well your people jumped off that banana boat fresh from the islands...

cho!! :shaq2:

I was referring to the fact that the colonizers thought they were in West of India when they got to the caribbean. Hence the incorrect terminology

That is depressing. I got family in UK and since mid 2000's they said the Polish have appeared everywhere. Tons of little corner stores with store names spelt in bad English and shyt. 2001 had 60,000 Polish born, in 2011 it was 560,000. Estimate put it at near a million if you include illegals. Nothin' against Polish people.... But, what the fukk is going on over there breh?
abit like thats going on the usa

government generate this immigrant facade, use the media to power it. while the government let them in the country by the million. And the people are looking left instead of looking right

Those in power want to create a sub class, below british whites but above other non white groups. Its all business, get the economy booming. investing in shares in polski products

aint no place for black folk here

A lot of the Polish (and other EU regional) businesses that have been opening up are just fronts for illegal activities though. Two Turkish grocery stores near me got busted for operating drug and contraband smuggling rings.

The gentrification of Brixton is very real. I still think the way Hackney and to a lesser extent, Mile End have been gentrified is a lot worse though.

Cant comment much on the first paragraph. But Polskis can be seen hanging on street corners past 5pm like crips n bloods. I'm talking proper back roards of residential streets. When I was a teen, if there was more than 2 black boys together, we'd get harrassed by police. Outside my house, in the busy street. you know how it is though

dont really know much bout hackney or mile end, I did go Love Box festival in mile end doe :banderas:

And Black Caribbeans living in the UK haven't? Look at how we fought for this country during the world wars... Still during the early 20th century when Britain was producing the best movies in the world, there were NO blacks, no representation or acknowledgement at all. The point I'm making is this whole 'they done it for themselves' theme is bullshyt. They had a easy route because white people hold eachothers best interest at heart regardless of nationality.

We already know "they've" gone out of their way to sabotage black businesses. Many examples can be named

Fair play to them, white people sticking together is not nothing new. But let's just call a spade a spade

I'm not saying we've done shyt, but I wish that we can thrive in making businesses appear left right and centre. I'm a black brit too and I have to work my way through to make my own business one day. I'm not sticking up for white Britain at all, its just the fact that the focus on 'immigration talk' is bs. Its sad that atm for black people to open a 'carribean or african food' shops, we've just gotta hit a different market.

How many blacks are represented in English politics and government?
1 iirc, Diane Abbot. She got a white husband too, other than that... none

When the riots happened a few years ago, there was no one to speak up for black people. Same when the 2 black utes chopped up the soldier in broad daylight. The media made it a muslim thing, I found it funny that if they made it a black thing there would of been no one to speak on behalf of us blacks in england

What areas in London would you recommend a black american to go to while on vacation?

What are some good places to eat?

Shepherds bush, stratford, central london with big ben etc. Ideally you'd wna come here for late august and go to Notting Hill Carnival, the biggest street carnival in the world (??)

burger and lobsters, nandos sheeit. Idk too much bout tourism

Didn't even realize you was black, mb

Yeah we definitely agree

For the most part it's raising our levels of consciousness etc, bcoz we're clearly not aware of whats going on around us in regards to society.
