:jbhmm: I dont trust articles from VOX at all bruh...I have discovered quite a few significant errors over there in the past...they arent entirely wrong but they like to omit and twist details to the point that you know youre being led to some prepackaged conclusion

like the story of the cleveland shootings..the 6 cops were acquitted because
A plainclothes police officer spotted Russell's car in an area known for drug deals. After the officer called in the license plate and it came up clean, he tried to pull over the car anyway for a turn signal violation. Russell, however, did not pull over and a police chase ensued. As Russell sped past two officers, they believed that they heard shots being fired. As no firearm was found in the vehicle, the sound was most likely caused by the car backfiring. A minister who knew Russell later reported that Russell's car had a history of frequent backfires.

According to The Plain Dealer, the chase went up to speeds of 100 mph and a total of 62 police cars were involved at one point. Officers from Cleveland, East Cleveland,Bratenahl, the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority participated in the chase.[4]

After a 22-mile chase, Russell turned into Heritage Middle School, located in East Cleveland. Police officers believed they saw a firearm in the car and that Russell was planning on running them over. One officer subsequently opened fire, followed by others. The amount of gunfire confused the officers into thinking they were being fired at from the vehicle. In the end, thirteen officers fired a total of 137 bullets into the car, with Officer Michael Brelo firing 49 of those shots.[5] Russell was struck 23 times, and Williams was struck 24 times. No weapon was recovered from the vehicle
That backfire detail created enough reasonable doubt and the fact they were chased for 22 miles and wouldn't get out of the car or turn it off when cornered

and these Gaps in stories is a trend i see in Vox

:comeon:The founder of VOX argues that the less details (inconvenient facts) a story has the better.........and beliefs that correspond with others in our "group" matter more than facts.

How politics makes us stupid

DISCLAIMER for the illiterate nikkas..NO im not saying its fair, NO im not saying they deserved to die, NO im not defending the cleveland PD....

im criticizing the source.

I understand I would have done the same. Not familiar with Vox honestly, I never go there. I did some digging though so you can definitely take what you will out of it

The guy who wrote the article Redditt Hudson, is definitely a real person. He claims to be an ex-cop who is now in a prominent position in the NAACP. Don't know if it's true but it seems something that's easily verifiable enough to assume he's not making it up. Here's another article he wrote at the Washington Post on the same issue

Being a cop showed me just how racist and violent the police are. There’s only one fix.

Plus you can see his picture he's one of those albino black dudes. His perspective kind of makes sense from that position.

That washington post OP ed was actually really good...it takes a whole different tone ...the dude is basically saying this is my experience and my opinion and my solutions .........they dont even sound like the same person wrote them

Dude doing good work. Police authorities love to deflect and throw up misleading statistics like it proves anything when they facilitate the problem. Arrest minorities greatly then throw up these stats as somehow minorities are violent.

:stopitslime: Sickening.

No-one here is blaming all cops, nor all white people, hell even black people inside these systems and authorities perpetuate these same stuff, but seriously there is obvious problems in police and the justice system. Ignoring it won't make it go away.

This fukking country :scust:

A Gallup poll from 2014 asked Americans to rate the honesty and ethical standards of people in various fields: police officers ranked in the top five, just above members of the clergy.
:dead:

the three most DIShonest professions are, literally, police, politicians and clergy

There it is..straight from the horses mouth. Go crazy.

How systemic racism entangles all police officers — even black cops

Why do police so often see unarmed black men as threats?

When is it legal for a cop to kill you?

I read that whole article. We all know the deal but reading it & made me angry/disgusted at the same time. It makes me angry when people deny police brutality & use the excuse there's only a few rotten apples when the whole system is racist & broke

The blue wall is a real thing. The fact that such a thing even exists is chilling. These people are supposed to protect and serve you but they have some form of code of dishonesty amongst them. :why:

I wouldn't even call it a blue wall. It's a white wall that protects them way more than non cac cops

God help you if you were poor and black in Chicago in the 90's and just happened to be caught in the wrong place at the wrong time with some of those cops. One of my brother's friends had a confession beat out of him. It could have easily happened to me, I was hanging out in Evanston slapboxing with one of the white homies as a kid, a cop ran up to my boy and asked him if I was harassing him?!!! :mindblown: My boy was like :stopitslime:. This was right around the time when them same Evanston cops beat up a handcuffed dude in one of their bathrooms. That could have easily been me if my white homie didn't stand up for me. That's why we as people need to rally around this sh*t as we've been doing. They keep trying to pick us off one by one. If all of us are linked up it's not gonna be that easy.
I remember hearing a story about some Rouge cop on the west side that would beat the shyt outta drug dealers and take their drugs and money in broad day light.

I think dude was black too.

EDIT: Austin cops sent to prison

Nikkaz worried about jack boys when a lot of times the COPS are the jack boyz in the hood. Cops outchea pimpin', selling drugs wholesale, sellin' weapons wholesale, doing enforcing jobs, marking their territory, in the hood the cops are just another gang, plain and simple. Also please believe this was bigger than just 3-4 cops, they just let the black/latino cops take the fall :smh:

I wish he would have stood up for that poor boy. Even if he did I bet they would have made up a lie to get him fired.

that's essentially what happened to chris dorner:

Allegations against training officer
Two weeks after the arrest of Gettler, Evans gave Dorner a performance review that stated he needed to improve in three areas.[22] The next day Dorner filed a report alleging that Evans had used excessive force in her treatment of Gettler,[22] accusing Evans of twice kicking Gettler in the face while he was handcuffed and lying on the ground.[23][24][25]

The LAPD investigated the complaint, examining the allegation against Evans and the truthfulness of Dorner's report, through an internal review board of three members—two LAPD captains and a criminal defense attorney. During the seven-month investigation of Dorner's complaint, Teresa Evans was assigned to desk duty and was not allowed to earn money outside of her LAPD job. Dorner's attorney at the board hearing was former LAPD captain Randal Quan.[23]

The review board heard testimony from a number of witnesses. Three hotel employees who witnessed "most" of the incident claimed that they did not see the training officer kick the man. Gettler was brought to the police station and given medical treatment for injuries to his face, but he did not mention being kicked at that time.[13] Later that day when he was returned to his father, Gettler told his father that he had been kicked by an officer, and his father testified to that at Dorner's disciplinary hearing.[13][26] In a videotaped interview with Dorner's attorney, shown at the hearing, Gettler stated that he was kicked in the face by a female police officer on the day in the place in question; however, when Gettler testified at the hearing, his responses to questioning were described as "generally . . . incoherent and nonresponsive."[27][28]

The investigation concluded that there was no kicking and investigators later decided that Dorner had lied.[29]

Termination and failed appeal
Dorner was fired by the LAPD in 2008 for making false statements in his report and in his testimony against training officer Evans.[26] Dorner's attorney at the board hearing, Randal Quan, said that Dorner was treated unfairly and was being made a scapegoat.[23][30][31]
