I don't understand what you mean.

I'd say that the best time to come to Cali is during the Petronio Alverez festival. It's super lit the weather is warm and people from all over the pacific come in.

Flight Pro Tip

Shred your Boarding pass and Luggage tags.

Scammers are taking luggage tags and making false claims for lost luggage which will make it harder for you to get a lost luggage claim should your luggage get lost in the future.

Additionally your name and passport information is on the barcodes so you could be victim of Identity theft as well.

Better to use your phone and the airplane app as a boarding pass.

Also get a power bank never use a charging station for your phone at the airport intelligence agencies have been using the charging ports to download malware and steal data for years.

For the brehs headed to Nairobi The best places to stay and hang out is in Parklands, Westlands Spring Valley areas.

The Movenpick and the Marriott are decent hotels. There's plenty to do see and explore in that area and there's plenty Airbnb's nearby.

quick anti theft hack.

If you're backpack or suitcase has a double zipper you can use a lock to keep the zippers together. Or you can use a black piece of string or even a paper clip. It won't stop a determined thief but it will stop most pick pockets.

I was told by my ex that there's a lot of petty theft on cruise ships unless a camera clearly sees it they don't like to accuse other passengers and crew and they tell you to just file a travel insurance claim. Since cruise passengers know this you get people stealing little things all the time on board.

Colombian CD rates.

In Colombia a CD is called a CDT here's the rates for them

Pibank currently offers one of the highest interest rates on CDTs (Certificates of Deposit) in Colombia, with a 14.15% effective annual rate for a 180-day term, which is higher than its 13.95% rate for a 360-day term. This structure is unusual, as longer terms typically offer higher rates, but Pibank's model provides a higher yield for shorter investments.

Bancolombia has also offered very high rates, with one user reporting a 14.97% effective annual rate for a 359-day CDT opened virtually through their savings account. Another source mentions Bancolombia's 1-year CDT rate at 4.80% as of June 2018, but this is significantly lower than the more recent rates reported.

Other banks like Colpatria and Banco de Occidente have offered rates in the 5-8% range for higher balances, which are considerably lower than the rates available from Pibank and Bancolombia in recent years. Lulo Bank has a 13% interest rate on its savings account, but this is not a CDT.

Therefore, based on the most recent data, Pibank appears to offer one of the highest CDT interest rates in Colombia, particularly for shorter-term investments.

This ROI (which is subject to change is Better than the S&P 500 right now.

To add on NuBank will give you a 60, 90 and 180 CDT at 9,90% so you could build a CDT ladder easily and make even more money.

Realizing that only a very specific amount of people care if for those who want to know what my favorite travel pants I have two that I swear by
Sitka Intercept pants. I got turned on to these pants when I was issued a couple of pair for certain kind of training missions The Pants wasn't even for me but since the Team got them anyone who deployed with the Team got them.

We had the non Camo kind but when I was in DC I saw a lot of girls wearing the Camo version for some reason. Some even wore the hoody which I was not issued.

Why you'd want these expensive ass pants 1. They pack down easily when traveling you want easily packable pants that you can do a Ranger roll (I'll explain what that is) That won;t be wrinkly won't take forever to dry ( important in tropical weather with flash rain stroms hand and machine washable ( again super important in Africa where washerwomen will wash clothes by hand) Breathable,( I almost never wear actual jeans they are big hard to pack and too hot) They have a merino on the part close to underwear so they don't stink if for some reason you wear them a couple of times. These pants will stand up to multiple machine washes

Most importantly they have hip zips designed to dump heat and another place that nobody will expect that you hide money or passport and credit cards if someone robs or pickpockets you

They're also very durable other than my issued one that I lost these pants have held up over ten years so it's a buy once cry once item

They're light and comfortable.

Those are my absolute favorites my second favorite is the Crye Precison Hot weather field pants.

These are even more durable and you can adjust the knee pads better if you need too.

All I can say is that a couple people asked me behind the scenes

Real estate advice for Nairobi. You could and maybe should use a Real estate agent in Nai.

I would get an apartment/ condo as close to the Nairobi expressway as possible i.e. The Westlands, Parklands, Lavington, Spring Valley, Kileshiswa, Killimani and the area around Village Mall and the US Embassy.

I'd get a place in a building at least 4 years old and the building or complex should be worth at least 10 million USD, Why? because you'd need a huge investment to ensure the right people were paid and no corners on the building were cut.

To keep it a buck if you see white families there it's a good deal. Also the property manager's reputation is extremely important if that person is corrupt chances are you will have big problems because corruption is rampant the PM must be paid well to ensure he or she does their job. You superintendent or fundi (handyman) really really matters. The fixtures will be a major tell if the place is good or not. They cheap out with a "suicide shower head" shytty electrical wiring shytty pipes that can't take grease or toilets that leak or clog easily you will be in big trouble. If at all possible find out if theres an airbnb in the complex the more there are will good ratings the better.

The bank with the highest APR in Kenya is Stanbic Bank. They offer a whopping 14% interest according to Ken's Money Matters

You can literally make a lot of money safely by putting some in a foreign bank

who do you bank with. Equity bank is over there and also decent.

Who do you have the best experience with?

It's called I&m
Equity and Stanbic wouldn't let me open an account because I wasn't a citizen

I&m didn't care

Equity is the best for withdrawals from my wise card though they don't charge

Thanks this is the information we need you have boots on the ground knowledge. I couldn't get a bank account In Kenya either.

You're married with a kid aren't you a citizen or on the path now?

Again you have more knowledge than me being a repat.

I also liked the ease of using Equity Banks ATM's and my ex in Kenya banked with them they were the bank that was most popular with Kenyans and it's Kenyan run.
