I’m a software developer. Should I go for an AWS cert or a GCP cert?

GCP is more developer-oriented? No?

Not that I know of :patrice:. From what I’ve read Aws is more flexible, albeit slightly more complicated due to the number of services.

Kubernetes was originally developed by Google, so they probably have more in built support for it

In terms of market share. Aws is the leader. Azure seems to be finding a lane in enterprise environments, basically places that are used
to Microsoft “legacy” systems (sql server, AD) and think it’s natural fit. Gcp is definitely 3rd.

Tl:Dr if you’re tryna improve marketability, I would say AWS:manny:

Yeah hmm...

I’ve been studying for the solutions architect cert here and there. Learning about virtualization and the plethora of services they offer. Now I’m hearing GCP is best suited for developers going the cloud native route.

AWS will always be the safe bet. Regardless of what role you have, it's the most widespread in terms of what companies are asking for. The knowledge is pretty applicable amongst AWS, Azure, GCP, and probably internal cloud providers, but you'll have to explain your knowledge if you get an interview using a platform you don't have a cert in.
