Why do ya'll never consider the fact that SOME TIMES when people say shyt like this, they're been too melodramatic.

Because you are always melodramatic (note your hilariously misplaced overuse of ALL CAPS) and contrarian... hence your deliberate ignoring of all of dude's legitimate complaints

You are just aggy that dude gets the drama queen attention you always crave :camby:

I agree, I've worked for big and small companies, but the atmosphere is changing. The money isn't flowing as it was. I've been in DC since 2004. I've seen contracts and money flowing, I got me a good bit of it. Since the housing market crash, the money has started to dry up. The govt is making major cuts in military size, bases and infrastructure. This will effect everyone.

Many guys making 100k will be force to make 75k soon. Many will be forced to leave this area. Let's face, most IT dont do a lot of work. Many places are overmanned. Take it from an OG IT, lower your bills and prepare for a bumpy ride.
Trust me i know. When i first came onboard with this company we were a team of 11 on my product line. 8 in the US and the other 3 abroad. We are now down to 4 with 2 in the US (me and another) and the other abroad

@Stuntone do you think if you met a woman in DC and had a kid and started your own family u would be more open to staying ?

I seriously doubt it. Never wanted to start a family this far from home. I want my kids to be real close to my family and their cousins like I am. I have cousins that are like brothers to me. Everyone of my gfs here have been open to moving down south sooner or later. And wives can be temporary, family is forever.

I'm tired bruhs. I can't take this area and lifestyle anymore. I miss my family, I miss the south so much. I've sacrifice so much chasing this money. I've been here almost 10 years, never loved it here. I've always wanted to leave, I've been waiting for a good opportunity to leave. I'm starting to believe there isn't going to be a perfect, I'm just about to go back to Louisiana for a few month. Workout, get my mind and spirit right. I've been somewhat depressed lately. This weather, working nightshift and every other Fri, Sat and Sun, missing out on everything. I'm just done. No more to give. Money don't mean sh:t anymore, I saved a lot. The only thing holding me up is my lease which ends July 18th. I was going to try and make, but I can't. I'm mentally exhausted.

Any suggestion on moving companies or how to break a lease w/o having to pay 1000s of dollars?

Felt the same way you did a few months back so I quit my job and started a startup with my friend. We aren't making money just yet but I can say this is the happiest I've ever been with work for a while. And you're right no money replaces family. Probably the sole reason why I haven't moved from here. Wise choice, good luck with everything.

Start your own business. It'll give you a new drive to go hard, and making your money work for you is the ultimate goal. Work until you ain't gotta do shyt and the money rolls in regardless. My suggestion would be FMCG or high value goods. Or branch out and start your own version of what you do at your job. If you getting paid 100K then you must be good at it. :yeshrug:

MFers really underestimate being happy. All the money in the world can't make a person happy, maybe resourceful and content but not happy

I left a high paying job, good schedule, comfterble life style to move back to NY and figure it out. Get out when that lease is up. Your life is still a rat race making 100k in dc anyway.

Chase happiness
