On track to make many times that amount. Keep playing. something tells me DC is a better place for just about every business you might think of starting with YOUR skill set versus Louisana.

yet you think you're the shyt with just 100K. Which clearly is LESS than 100K after taxes. Yet you think having money grants you insight about getting ahead that I don't have. I've got degrees in shyt you couldn't tackle...so where does that leave us? just admit you like hustling backwards.

Enjoy east-bumbfukk Lousiana because you couldn't hack it in the working world.

shyt ain't made to be easy and by running away it won't get any easier.

Only in america would people prioritize money over family/happiness (well except in far east Asia maybe)

If you really need to make that move then do it, you'll find some work if u got a good degree. Or maybe not fukk it. Life is all about being happy, contrary to the coli consensus. When your happy it makes everyone that much happier too.

I think you're being a little bytch.

1. 10 years in a high paying job ain't nothing.

2. I honestly believe you should think about getting another degree (MBA?) or switch careers...HORIZONTALLY...don't go into something making less than you make now

3. grind it out. What is there for you in Louisana

I know people love the "do what you love" trope...but its largely bullshyt and repeated by people who make their living in entertainment mostly.

Most times we do what we must so that we can later do what we want.

That's how I see retirement :manny:

If you are truly miserable, I don't see how staying in that situation and grinding it out will yield you any satisfaction.

I say you use up any vacation time you have and go hang out with your family in Louisiana for a bit. That will allow you to get away from the bullshyt and make a level-headed decision.

I wouldn't recommend you just walk away promptly, because that could set you up for even more misery when your back-up plans fails. Have an exit strategy breh.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Buy a place near your family, take some time to travel and evaluate what you want to do. With your certs and experience you could be a mercenary and do the same job you have now for half the year just traveling wherever :yeshrug:

Split life living, doing IT work in Spain or some shyt for 6 months, and then coming back to the South.

There's always jobs around the world for english speakers, especially dudes with CERTS. @Stuntone could probably be up in Dubai by next week for a 3 month stint if he wanted.

Family is all that there is. I've made a lot of money, have a career, but my life feels empty.

I'm just going to relax in Louisiana for a few months. Get my mind right and look into starting my own business. I don't have the mental to interview or work for anyone right now. My mentally exhausted. I just need to take a few months off and clear my mind. I've saved up enough to take a few years off if I chose to. I just want to workout and spend time with my love one. Money ain't sh:t, especially if it's not big money. I'll probably look into moving to Texas, Cali or ATL in the fall.
:salute:
money is far from everything. In society it works as a gate keeper to many things but is never worth your inner peace

Trying to figure out if I want to sell most of my things or put them in storage? Uhaul is a ripoff, anyone has experience with PODS?

I'm tired bruhs. I can't take this area and lifestyle anymore. I miss my family, I miss the south so much. I've sacrifice so much chasing this money. I've been here almost 10 years, never loved it here. I've always wanted to leave, I've been waiting for a good opportunity to leave. I'm starting to believe there isn't going to be a perfect, I'm just about to go back to Louisiana for a few month. Workout, get my mind and spirit right. I've been somewhat depressed lately. This weather, working nightshift and every other Fri, Sat and Sun, missing out on everything. I'm just done. No more to give. Money don't mean sh:t anymore, I saved a lot. The only thing holding me up is my lease which ends July 18th. I was going to try and make, but I can't. I'm mentally exhausted.

Any suggestion on moving companies or how to break a lease w/o having to pay 1000s of dollars?
What are the people like out there

Sometimes selling off ya stuff can do the mental cleanse thing wonders breh. If you don't really need it, I say let it go.

Is PODS just a term for storage centers? I've used them, they hold ya shyt you pay a monthly fee, nothing much to it breh

Norfeast groovin…
It sounds like in all this time you never made it a point to regularly vacation which is what you have done. But every time you post your complaints on DC it makes me glad I'm a local and don't deal much with the professional/transient portion of the city.

Thing is, even if I sold all the big stuff. I could move 1/2 of my clothes and shoes and small things in my car. So I'm going to have to do something. I feel like if I have to use a service, I might as well keep a lot of my things. I might just throw my thing into PODS go home for a few months until I decide where I'm going to do.

How much did the Pods cost you? I just need a small box.
