Get your cdls do a man’s job

I don’t think the FAA would accept a candidate that was diagnosed with autism. If all else fails you could apply for air traffic controller school. Applications open starting Monday![]()
I like this approach. Delay things a bit by getting your masters. Go to a decent B school and get your network going there. Professors know ppl. Someone else also said take the research route. If you find the right school/researcher/professor, you may find a topic directly or tangentially related to your interests and take that as an in for some dollars. shyt that could parlay into a completely different career. You could just go to grad school actually and delay your first job until you have a masters and you’re more qualified. You could get an MBA or some social science MA. If you can’t find a job, that may be the way to go. Take the required tests and see if you qualify. It can’t hurt.
Yo, I can help you think about some grad schools and possibly get in even with a poor gpa (I did, after failing at 2 colleges and doing extremely well at the 3rd college… story for another day). If you take that route, hit my inbox. @JadeB life ain’t over. You just need to strategize, develop a plan and stick with it.You don't sound like you got that dog in you. I graduated with no job *STEM though* but I was hungry. Your peers getting PR jobs have Youtube channels and are influencers on Social Media. They eat sleep breath that life.
Also what is too much pride to move back with your parents? Young nikkas man.
My best advice is grad school. You can delay growing up for 2 more years. Hopefully you had a good gpa.
U can go to an assortment of programsI want to go to grad school but I don't know what to major in. PR is mostly a bachelor's thing so I can't really continue with that. That may be what's best for me
I'm graduating in a couple weeks and I have no job lined up. For context, I'm graduating with a bachelor’s in Public Relations and I applied to over 200 PR and advertising jobs since February and I only got three interviews in which nothing materialized from. I went to my university career center, got my resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn reviewed and everyone said it was fine. I also attended a seminar for networking and nothing came out of it.
I began looking for jobs not related to my field. I looked into being a teacher and almost began my certificate of teaching until I changed my mind last minute because of the fact that I had no passion to be a teacher. And you're going to need passion to teach little Jimmy for peanuts. I thought about being an insurance agent and applied but nothing came out of it. I even looked into joining the military but I don't think I can get in with an autism diagnosis.
I work at my university's library making minimum wage and I have until the end of the summer to work there. I don't know how I can pay rent by then. I can't live with my mother due to unrelated reasons and my father lives all the way back in Ohio which I can't swallow my pride to move back there after 5 years in California and move back in with him. I'm nervous and at my wit's end.
a degree will do. just apply on your state site & u will be at least making more than minimum wage. it'll hold u over while u jobhunt.Haven't thought about being a substitute. You don't need a special certificate for that
My parents just wanted me to get a degree in something since they found out that I'm bad at math which gets STEM out of the picture.Serious Question for you breh. I mean this in total sincerity. But you are nigerian , right? How did you parents NOT try to push you into the big 4? (Med/law/eng/allied-health)
Based on my time in college, its incredibly rare to see a nigerian or any of the wealthier african nationals(kenyan, ghanian, south
Afr) go pure humanities like public relations. In fact the only deviation i saw was stuff like accounting in the bussiness school.
But , regarding your search for ad firms; that will be tough because the industry is cutting back due to rising interest rates and fewer advertisers pushing new products. Hiring freezes all over the place. The industry booms when the overall economy is booming, and currently its a bust. Have you considered applying to the Foreign service? Ideally an internship with an FSO office, followed by a full aplication to that department?
Id suggest applying for a felllowship or grad school but you are kinda late for this year’s cycle.
Banking/finance involves math which I do poorly inI recommend people right out of college to look into finance/banking. Many places can’t find qualified people and having a bachelor’s should at minimum get you in the door.
Also, your degree choice doesn’t always matter. It just shows companies you’re able to stay on task for a certain number of years and complete something.
Indeed. It's not fair at allYeah all that. At the end of the day most people either get lucky or have shyt already lined up for them by their families/connections.
It’s about who you know. fukk this world.
