He's a douchebag, and a particularly lame example of the old "bad boy with a good heart" fiction trope. Those scenes where he's bonding that little boy who lives next door or "looking out for" the coaches daughter or fixing their cable lol. Just tiresome stuff.

He desecrated the saintly wholesomeness of my beloved Lyla get your filthy hands off her you odious wretch

That, and he looks about 30 but is supposed to be like 16 at the start?
