It's important to preserve physical movies

And I'm tired of having to search for streaming servicez

If this is only about preserving movies and avoiding streaming then get a SSD or High Capacity HDD and download the movies.

Buying a Blue Ray player is not going to have you watching very many movies in the highest resolutions and it doesn't future proof you for any new viewing tech. At least with downloaded movies you can use an upscaler or manipulate the file for the new format.

Rip the movies to a Hard drive and watch them through Plex.

The amount of stories i heard growing up about movies being lost to annuals of time because they didn't properly store the 35mm reels at the right temps. Makes me think that the digital format actually does a better job at preserving movies.
Bluray supposedly only last up to 20 years before becoming brittle and fragile like an old piece of plastic

I've never in my life watched a Blu-Ray. By the time that shyt took off there was XBMC (Kodi), streaming, etc.

These brehs horded DVDs and probably still went to blockbuster when it closed and got mad when they found out Netflix stopped distributing dvds

Nice. I’m keeping all my Blue Rays and DVDs. They have better picture quality, and they’re yours to keep. You don’t have to worry about the streaming svc removing them.

Plus you get the special features and deleted scenes.

I'm a 3D nerd. As far as I know there's no streaming services with 3D so I gotta get the blu-ray for any movie I want to have in 3D.

Sure, but the cloud isn't forever either.
They had a half billion dollar legal battle over the rights to it back in April.

the ONLY blu ray I've ever owned was talledaga nights, and that was ONLY cuz it came with the PS3.
