And while I'm not debating that GT sells well as a franchise. What you are attempting to overlook is whats important.

Forza, Not Gran Tourismo is the highest rated racer. Forza 3 still hasn't been topped by GT4 or GT5 in the minds of the actual people who enjoy these games.
