Wat u know about living on one piece of bread shared with your brother for the whole day?

Only god knows what everyone has been through at one point in another, surviving struggle is nothing to brag about. Because there is always people out there contending with a hundred times harder. Pray for them and help people in need at every opportunity, when you can afford to do so.

Paper food stamps, government cheese and commodity canned pork.
Beans and rice for days on end.

Made the mr and I the people we are today.

when they were literal stamps and not EBT cards..

when you actually have used both..

and still do:mjcry:

being broke is being rich in these Orwellian dayze, that's why the rich are crumbling down right along with us po folk..your material things will just pull you down in the quicksand faster:youngsabo:

Nikka you try growing up near Jamaica Ave, and then tell me you know struggle. You try having to take care of a grandma who was on dialysis for 32 years; and dealing with that emotional BS. You try having your cousin, one of your closest friends, grandma, and aunt die in the same month ( August 2013).

I don't glorify it; but please try walking in somebody shoes before you talk about them.

OP, why would you want us to struggle? Why does it seem like some people think struggling is the core of the black experience? I don't want black people to know "the struggle." I

want black people to have all the opportunities possible. I do get what you're saying about people being self-centered as I wish more people were understanding of others.

Only struggled for a few years when I was younger, and a year of college where I lived illegally in my friend's dorm, but I do know the struggle.
The smell of ramen almost turns my stomach now, and anxiety has worn my teeth down a bit.
Most people know the struggle, if only for a few days.
When you can talk about it with friends and all laugh because you relate so closely, you've been through the struggle.
