I've got
Dre
Preemo
RZA
DJ Quik
Pete Rock
Prince Paul
Madlib

And Probably more ahead of Kanye. He has fallen off IMO but he obviously has classics

Same here. Pharrel has been using the same tired as synths since the late 90's and he really hasn't pushed the sound forward like Ye. He has mega hits though so that's what keeps him in the argument

Kanye's Top 10 IMO, but I'd argue that The Neptunes did more to sonically push music forward than Kanye West.

how sway? lol for the sake of the argument. I am a huge NERD fan but those records are entirely different than what they produced for everyone else. If they were to push those kind of records with everyone I would understand but that wasnt the case and I love chad and pharrel.

I'm talking about what they were able to do with records like "Superthug" and "Grindin". Nothing else sounded like that.

you know it's ridiculous as hell to say that

even if you don't like him, you can't deny his impact on hip hop when it comes to the music

you might not like him, but to deny some of the great music he's produced is ridiculous

I don't give A fukk about his so called impact.

What's his great music? That stuff from the early 00's? Guess Who's Bizzack? Once again it's on? The Truth? You think those songs are seeing 'How I Can Just kill a Man' or 'Sally Got a One Track mind'? Are they better than 'Fight The Power' or 'Terrordome'?

Kanye ain't even top 50 if you really wanna get down to brass tacks.

They don't know those songs, those songs are too hip hop and it's too far back for them to care.

It's when people start throwing around the all time tag that I feel the need to properly frame things. If they wanna discuss Kanye amongst his peers from the early 00's then fine. I'll not even care enough to chime in.

I mean are we pretending 'Jesus Walks' is as good a beat as 'Time's Up'? Like forreal?
