How is the death, or murder of a pregnant woman carry heavier punishment than that of a non pregnant woman, but at the same time a woman can have an abortion and it not be considered murder?

I'm not trying to hate on anyone, so if you going to get into your feelings as a woman or a man or whatever :camby:

It just doesn't make sense to me...:francis:

Would u rather a woman have an abortion or birth a child that is unwanted unloved and will most likely abused and neglected into the world ¿¿¿¿ I would not have an abortion but I won't judge those that do. Despite what they sAy black babies aren't being adopted so that baby might also b failed by the system in foster care.

The law takes into account how far along the pregnancy is. In most states it’s not “murder” until later on in the pregnancy.

Beyond that, the extra penalty is because the murderer would be removing the mothers “choice” to have a kid. Remember it’s all about a mother’s right to chose. No one else should be able to make that choice for her.

I'm pro life but also pro choice.

I'm not about judging people at all.

And what @MeachTheMonster said makes sense. But I know for sure that it doesnt matter if a woman was 4 weeks or 4 months. You getting a heavier charge.

But yeah over all I guess it's about choice, that isnt where the confusion lies for me.

If murder or manslaughter is illegal, and its pretty much accepted that if a pregnant woman dies. If someone else is the cause of that death, they killed 2 people....but if a woman wants to abort a baby in that case she has the right to make that choice because it's her body?

Seems like a heavy contradiction.
