There's nothing bottom shelf tasting at any point when it comes to Redbreast. It's got a very full flavor, but is also smoother than Billy Dee Williams (no Colt). It has the perfect kick at the end but disappears as quickly and pleasantly as it comes. This is one of the rare things in life where the price does not reflect the quality that you'll receive from the product. I've been so satisfied with their standard 12 year line that I've never even given a second thought on trying the 21 year variant. It's honestly the perfect drink for me. I don't have the most sophisticated palette when it comes to drank, but I've had glenfiddich, and I'd put them neck and neck as far as enjoyment goes, with Redbreast being significantly cheaper.
