In regards to shooting threes.

I also learned that there is a little light under the player's feet that tell you when to release the ball.

Yes my friends, a guaranteed swish almost every time.

Playing regular online 1 vs 1 is wack as hell though, I mostly play in leagues with the mode set to simulation, much better basketball.

lol at the pre emptive you mad... but yeah 3 point shooting is just ridiculous in this game especially with dudes who have figured out the releases... u gotta just close out and make sure ur playing ur best perimeter defenders... if they start hitting alot of 3s on you it will get there momentum going but once they miss a couple ull have a window to make them pay.

Key to D is being able to quickly call the DPad plays. Pressure shooters, defend paint and stick the stars or w/e they work and theyre the only DFense I use. I do spam 3s all game though with Ray Allen most games I have about 30-60 with Ray Ray. When you have somebody with a dimer sig skill it makes Ray unstoppable those sig skills are dangerous. The dimer sig gives A 10% boost in shooting and a 4% boost in 3ptrs thats why so many people online pick the knicks if you pass novak or melo the ball from jason kidd he draining that bytch if you aint playind perfect D. Another sig skill you need is defensive anchor it raises the D ratings of everybody on the court so when I have haslem on the floor (I play him the whole game) he raises the whole teams Dfensive stats 10%.

I implemented this strategy and have one 3 years straight in my 2k leagues, before that i was always a first rounder in the playoffs.

I am the master but I also can learn peep this..

This changed my 2k life.

I don't even bother with that shyt. I play regular man defense all the time and typically control the PG. but I will switch to a C or PF if I see them out of position and someone coming down the paint.

When someone shoots a 3, and you contest it, just keep running down the court.

And set screens for your shooters. Also, pumpfake, take a dribble to the left or right, and then shoot. The space you create increases the chance of the shot going in.

oops are so easy. as long as you are have someone good throwing the oop, and a finisher with a clear path the the basket, ur good. When I play with the bulls, I throw at least 2 oops per game from derrick rose to jimmy butler since him and are the only cats that can finish oops basically. also I pretty much ONLY throw oops if when I have an advantage in #'s on the break and a defender is between me and the finisher.

Defense = patience + right stick shading...you can use the left stick just to bump and keep the man in front of you...now if it's LeBron James then you have to double team and pray he misses...play passing lanes anticipate where the ball is going...learn how to defend jumpshots by staying down and not jumping @ the defender which puts you out of position and disrupts your defense...learn how to rebound for yourself the computer will screw you over most of the time on the boards...make sure you playing on the 2k camera so you can constantly survey the floor on both defense and offense...constantly switch players and anticipate drives to the basket and rotating to contest open shots...don't be afraid to take charges a lot of people drive straight lines while holding down turbo anticipate that and make them pay...when you have an offensive player driving on you straight towards the basket depending on the defender you're controlling reach in and try to swipe the ball as they go up with it

Offense: Find a team you like and practice all their jumpshots in practice and remember to turn on shot feedback and find their hot spots, take their big man in post offense practice and get a feel for his moves down low if he has any at all...learn the baseline spin move and the hook spin its an easy way to score with big guys...also learn the up and under that move works like gold most of the time from the stand still or the post...go to plays and mess around and see if you can pick up 3-4 money plays to pull out in case you need them...look @ your player ratings...just because a guy is a pg or sg doesn't mean he can shoot 3s well...don't be afraid to let it fly from down town with guys with great 3pt ratings...get mean with the dribble stick because having somebody guessing which direction you're going in is an advantage
