She was a Princeton lawyer at a major Chicago law firm who made more than him for most of the time they were together before he was a Federal Senator. She was going to be a millionaire whether they got married or not.

President was his dream. he didn't do it for his family he did it in spite of his family. She raised the kids most of the time, she paid the bills most of the time.
