that's good, but when these rappers are talking about lean, poppin pills, smoking whatever, coke, trappin etc, a parent doesn't have time to stop after every bar and explain something to a child. Plus all these lil bad kids running around cussing and saying stuff way too young and the parents think it's "cute". The kid will find it on his own, but hopefully by that point he knows right & wrong.

I'm NOT saying that's you or your Mom, but this era is a lil different. Lost Boyz lyrics arent = to Lil/Yung whoever.

I wasn't coming at you breh just saying.
My dad listened to Wu tang and snoop Dogg heavy when I was young but in all fairness I never even knew until I was older and was going through his records/cds

I try to listen to see what they are talking about (sounds like a bunch of unoriginal, enabling, self-destructive crap tbh) but I don’t listen anymore. I think I’m too old for rap and I’m okay with that at this point. I don’t like what they’re talking about. Now that I’ve supported enough artists out of my own pocket on multiple formats, I’m okay leaving Hip Hop or Rap or whatever you want to call it where it is. Good luck to y’all.

As a youngster I used to get frustrated when I knew I couldnt play rap music in the car bc my parents were riding or I had to put my headphones on to listen to my music.

But now that I'm older, and old enough to have kids myself, how clownish would it be for me as an adult parent to be riding around listening to & rapping along with my kids to this era of rappers in hip-hop?:scust:

Even though I usually listen to sports or podcast in the car, the times I listen to rap and my kids are in the car, they don't even like the shyt I like. And the trap they like I can't stand either. So listening to sports works best most times.

This sounds like a prime opportunity to show your kids different kinds of music, both in hip hop and other genres.

A lot of mainstream stuff is trash, but that’s not all of hip hop.
