I can cosign this. If I drink for 3 days straight(like I usually do on my days off). That day I stop I'll have the small shakes. Feel sick, depressed as shyt and basically want to die. I'm only 26. but between 21-24, I was drinking a 5th a day easy.

My uncles ex wife died from alcohol. my aunt almost died from it, but she quit around 50 and lived well her last 20 or so years

bruh. Im not pissy drunk i just get a good buzz it gives me a carefree attitude i've always desired. Being sober is boring i've got nothing to look foward too in life anyways.

I used to be friends with alcoholics who drank all day in their house, they'd drink a couple of 40's and they weren't out of it at all

Yeah I know. When I get broke after a long binder. I will scrape up the last change I have. Have two quick beers and quit for a week to let my body heal. I know not to drink for 3 days and stop.

Before I go get my shyt done. the craziest thing I used to do while being an alcoholic.
I used to do roofing with my dad. I would drink all day while roofing. I'd take a Gatorade bottle with half vodka and half Gatorade on the roof with me everyday. Drinking was so normal to me I would be or alert and productive 30ft in the air on a roof.

oh, my appetite for alcohol is definitely increasing, and i'm trying my hardest not to submit to that craving. you'd think i'd feel

i'm almost of the mind that having a drink will return me to top form, crazy as it sounds.
I've heard alcohol withdrawal is the only one that can straight up kill you. If that's not completely true than I know that its a better chance of death due to it than any drug.
@T/s you don't have to be getting the shakes to be a "real alcoholic". If you feel like you have nothing to look forward to and need a drink to have enjoyment, that's a sign of a 'real alcoholic' too, its different kinds.

All true. Once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic. No matter how long you stop, it won't take long to get back where you were when you stopped
Edit: My friends mom used to be a big alky like 20 years ago. stopped. started up again a year or so ago. Go over there any night and shes drinking
