The writers of the show chose a Pretty Boy for a very specific reason, if they were not trying to indicate that Mike could be gay and be the next Omar, then they would have used Dukie has his partner...Or they could have used a savage looking Chris type dude, but they chose a dude that most of us can clearly see is "too soft" to be a savage...

This is what happens in the future...

(1) Michael turns into "Omar"
(2) Dukie becomes just another "Bubs"
(3) Randy becomes the next Drug King...Remember, he has the same name as Cheese, so they are possibly related, that means Prop Joe is his doorway into the drug world, and the king was selling stuff since he was born, with his only reason to stay straight gone (foster mother) and the cops "betraying", the orphan kids teaching how to survive for being a "snitch", Randy becomes hard, and the next to dude to sit on the throne...
(4) Namond becomes a big political figure..Possibly the future mayor of Baltimore or maybe even a governor or a senator...
(5) Kenard becomes the next bodysnatcher...A savage like Chris...

Mike became the new Omar. Probably worse than Omar because by 15/16, Mike was already a hardened killer that was trained by a group of sociopaths.

It is funny how some people were just watching the images and not really following the intricate story line...I am not reaching that far when I assert that Michael was gay...

The facts are in the story...

(1) Dude was molested by his step-dad...Many molested boys turn into homosexuals...Many sexually active homosexuals have had sex with women...
(2) He is the next Omar...Who was a homosexual...Not only that, but Omar always had a shot gun, a "pretty boy" in his crew, and his MO was robbing players in the game...

Then you see Michael with a "pretty boy," a shot gun, and his robbing players in the game...1 + 1 = 2...

When I first saw Michael teaching Dukie how to shoot a gun, I though the writers were going to make Michael and Dukie the next Avon and Stringer Bell, but they through us a curve ball...

Why did they have to make a Michael a victim of homosexual child abuse...? They could have chosen a non-sexual abuse that would have still made Michael hate his step dad...

Then, all of the sudden Michael is the next Omar, why not make him the next Marlo? Marlo is out the game, Prop Joe is dead, the Barksdales are finished, Chris is doing life, and Snoop is RIP...The game is wide open, and Michael is the best combination of brain and brawn, with a killer instinct...He was next in line for the throne...

But no, the writers had him portraying the future Omar...Why...?

I am still pissed at the writers of The Wire for turning him into a fakkitt, when I wanted him to be the next Marlo/Avon on steroids...He had Avon's boxing background and Marlo's strategic killer instinct, with the best coaches in the game, Chris and Snoop...The writers set it up nicely, and they dropped the ball when they turned him into a fakkitt...
