I'm guessing that Ebro/Joe Budden interview didn't go well

Any chick thats over 21 or so knows pump it up so yes they knew about him back then. He also has always been with a lot of popular women so other women knew about him from gossip blogs and shyt even before he was on love and hip hop.

Exactly, any chick over 21. There's 14 year old girls that know who buddens is.
Ask your typical 14 year old girl who Joe buddens is in 2000 they'd have no idea.

It's little shyt like that that you'd have to have been around to know about. To this day I still don't know how that rumor got started, I just remember that it was a thing. Some of these dudes were either too young, or weren't really in the hip-hop scene like that to recall tidbits like that. But they want to act like they know who was popping when, and for how long...

That rumor got started because one of Budden's earliest mixtape appearances was on Clue's Hev E. Components Pt.3 tape, which also had little interlude drops by Rasheed Wallace. Budden was obviously an unknown and their voices sounded very similar at the time, so some people thought it was Sheed rapping.

at one point joe was supposed to be that dude but I think it was a combination of his personality and def jam not doing the best job of making him a huge star. I know I read somewhere he said he owned his publishing or most of it and if the label doesn't get your publishing they not gonna push you like that. Then it came time for the growth album and it wasn't commercial enough and had no singles and Joe didn't budge so it never came out. thank god for that tho cause mood music's were piff and Joe did pretty well independent.

First off, why the fukk would a 14 year old need to know about Budden from the early-mid 2000s?

Secondly, why the fukk would I go ask a 14 year old girl questions my nikka? You want me to post up outside the local HS so I can ask some young bytches questions about rapper before her time?:dahell:

Def Jam did everything they could for him. More than they ever did for a lot of other artist.

I'm talking about being 14 in 2000 bro. When we were that young, when you were 14 your 14 year old girlfriend did not know who buddens was in 2000. Even if I'm wrong, are people too stupid to comprehend what I'm saying? Buddens is more popular now then he was back then. Jesus christ

nikka who the fukk knew Budden in 2000? If you were 14 when Pump it Up dropped, then yes your 14 year old gf knew about Joe Budden

and ya i guess Budden is more popular now, but so what? I dont see why who thots know/dont know matter so much Joe has always been known to rap fans and was always known to the rapper he's currently been dissing.

But yeah i guess your overall point was right though. Budden is probably at his peak as far as pop culture relevancy or whatever

The crazy thing is he had songs that would of been hits on the growth album for that time period like these if get jam would only put that album out

Esther Baxter was known back in the day :yeshrug:

Dont really see what the issue is. Y'all want this nikka Joe to be unknown so bad. He was known in 2003. He is known now. By and men and women who are into rap. And most of all, the guy he's dissing knows him and Ebro knows him so Joe isn't getting into incidents with nobody who doesn't know him.

I guess it depends on where you were. I was Uptown and I felt like 50 was already kinda big by the time Budden album dropped. But to be fair I wasn't really buying mixtapes from Queens DJs, so I think that's how I missed out on the 50 vs Budden debate. Budden got a lot of support from the Queens DJs.

Uptown the debate was if Budden or Juelz was hotter.
Budden was down with desert storm and was on every clue tape.

He wasn't being kept a secret
