Could be a lot of things. Birds, squirrels, possums, racc00ns. You should check your roof and look for any openings around the vicinity. Also if you should trim any tree limbs too close to the house.The scratching noise is coming from my attic. What could it be?
The house next door to my bother's house has a family of racc00ns in the attic. The company that bought it fixed the roof, and those muthafukkers came back and ripped it open again.

Probably mice. I would get a few containers of poison at Home Depot (about $10) and lay them at the walls of the attic on each side. If the problem goes away in about 5 days, then problem solved. Issue is that if its not taken care of, mice and rats attract snakes, and you can't hear snakes moving about your house.
