Open world is the shyt when there is good exploration and a sense of wonder. If you don't have that, they're not as good.
Without the little things included, open world games just aren't captivating enough. If only Rockstar would have done a remaster of RDR or San Andreas.man if they did a remastered of san andreas i probably never would of bought gta5I think companies saw the success that games like GTA has had (Rockstar games practically just scoop GoY and other awards, not to mention the sales) and want to try and replicate that same level of success. The problem is other game developers don't put in as much detail; I still remember how you could hogtie someone in RDR, put dude on the horse, then shoot his foot or leg and watch the blood drip down.Without the little things included, open world games just aren't captivating enough. i miss the groveThe new metal gear looks nice but I was kind of nervous about it.
y'all don't know what you want
you hate open world games... but how many are there really? anything RPG shouldn't count.. that's been open world since zelda... how the hell you gonna have a RPG with a straight up story... then it's no longer an RPG... it's just a regular game with optional powerups
so that leaves off pretty much everything except gta like games... i call them action/adventure... again you have gta, rdr, assasins creed and saints row... the new metal gear... how many of those games are bad??
it's actually harder to create an entire world for a dev... it cost more everything, time, money, people, space... so they definitely dont do it for easiness
you know why they do it?? and this will go back to y'all not knowing what you want...
cause the moment they drop a game that isn't open world... everyone starts crying about how short it is...
"wow it's so short... i wish they had multiplayer" - so now they cram that shyt into every game, which is worse than open world... i mean EVERY game doesn't need a multiplayer online mode
then it became "wow it's so short.... i wish it was open world" - and still, i'd say like 90% of the games aren't open world... but i'm waiting for the long list of shytty open world, non-rpg games to drop
me personally... for my 60 bucks, i want 100 hours of gameplay over me beating it in 2 weeks then paying another 60 for maps and shyt to run around in doing the same 5 objectives for the next year
did i say YOU brehLast of us wasn't too short for me...uncharted wasn't too short for me....metal gears in the past weren't to short to me.
Mind you some of these had multiplayer components.
Stop.
