What's the game about? Isn't it an action RPG? Is it open world?

Pretty Much. Borderlands 2 is a FPS/RPG. It's open world, but not every section of the game is available right from the get-go.

I ended up getting Last Of Us, Super Street Fighter IV, Star Wars The Force Unleashed and Borderlands 2 all within a two week span. All of them are great. I'm starting to get addicted to Borderlands 2. Last of Us is great as well, but a little too easy so far. Also don't care for button smashing, but hey, the story is great and so is the environment.
