Been to LA a couple of times, food wise, it’s underwhelming compared to other spots I been to. Atlanta Houston Dallas New Orleans, even Kansas City and Seattle was better to me. Not saying La is trash but its not a foodie Mecca.if you say LA has nothing but chains and texmex, i know off rip you aint getting out.
It’s objectively top 5 in the US. Those cities, except maybe NO for some people, ain’t beating LA. Now there may be a particular thing you’re into - given the cities you named (minus Seattle) I’m gonna assume southern/American comfort and bbq might be your thing, those cities might come out ahead. But across the board from low to high end, quality of ingredients, technique, creativity, nah.Been to LA a couple of times, food wise, it’s underwhelming compared to other spots I been to. You must be from LA to speak like that. To each it’s own. Guess We agree to disagree. And I like a variety of food. Caribbean, seafood, south western, east-African etcIt’s objectively top 5 in the US. Those cities, except maybe NO for some people, ain’t beating LA. Damn you putting monkey pox on us cuzDamn...yall see why I try to let everyone know what it is in ohio. You get sentenced to a trip there, prepare for:
- terrible food
- ugly women
- the 'nice part of town' being nothing but dive bars
- racist cops
- speed traps
- monkey pox
- crystal meth
- terrible sports teams
- your car getting stolen
- nothing positive whatsoever
No, I’m from Oakland as my avi says. And I hate LA as a city, But I been enough places and lived in enough cities to have an objective view of the food scene. LA only NO is in the same class as LA and that’s really only for doing one particular style well. That said, Cali definitely doesn’t have the Caribbean game on lock, but everything else you mentioned is first class. You must be from LA to speak like that. To each it’s own. Seafood is better on the eastern half of the us. Funny you bring up Oakland because I enjoyed dining in SF jsut as much as I enjoyed LA.No, I’m from Oakland as my avi says.
