I agree. Lived in both cities. Toronto is so lame with their cops and rules. I got so used to Montreal that I always get in trouble when I'm in Toronto :russ:

Mont Royal is the mountain
Mont Royal Park is the park on the east side of the mountain (Parc Avenue between Mont-Royal Ave & Duluth)...where Tam Tams is.

If you're going to Tams, it won't start to get poppin til about 1. So go out for brunch first.

There's a good brunch spot with mimosas called Cartel..it's on McGill on the outskirts of Old Montreal

A couple other popular brunch spots are Beauty's - Mont-Royal/St-Urbain and Bagels Etc. - St-Laurent/Marie-Anne (both are actually right near Mont Royal park/Tam Tams) - both can get line-ups out front so watch out!

But you also need to hit up Schwartz's for a classic smoked meat sandwich. That place gets crazy line-ups sometimes so watch out. It's sooooo good though! Order it medium cuz lean doesn't have the same melt in your mouth quality

Or try the smoked meat poutine...

Or even hit up that Ma'am Bolduc spot (de Lorimier/Marie-Anne), it's a sweet little spot



It's funny you say that. One of my best friends and I used to live in Toronto. Now she's in Van, I'm in Montreal and neither of us has ever thought about moving back to Toronto although we both have tons of friends out there and family nearby. We miss it dearly but I think Toronto is too square for us for lack of a better way to put it. :yeshrug:

Hope u enjoyed your stay in Montreal its a nice city grew up there way to European for me they have little community's... Italian community.. Portuguese community...Haitian community....there used to be a Anglo carribean community but after the referendum scared half of them senseless to the point where they dipped to Toronto so not as much of them live in Montreal...I moved to Toronto last year I think it's more for me more blks morr party....its not as historical authentic as Montreal but I like it so far....hope u got to take in some good food..deville restaurant is good... My face restaurant is BOUSTAN (lebenese food) and Moishe's
Its too bad u didn't come early August the fireworks would be on every Saturday at the old port....make sure u grab some queue de castor (beaver tails) its so good....its not literally beaver tails there like a flat pastery and u can put wat ever topping on it ...it looks like a beaver tail that's y they call it that...as for orange julep proceed with caution brought my bf here had him try it now he's adicted and asks my sister to bring up some when she comes to Toronto smh...Mount Royal is nice at nights ( don't feed the rac00n)... I heard they now have food trucks at the Olympic stadium.. Heard the food is amazing.. I will definitely need to come down nxt summer to try it
