Dude dropped his wallet. She's basically joking that he's lucky he noticed it because she could've taken it and paid for her nails.

No different than someone unknowingly dropping a $20 and you going, "shyt...you're lucky I'm nice; drinks were about to be on you tonight" before handing it over.

Doesn't mean she wants him to pay for her nails or that you want that person to pay for your drinks. It's just a simple joke for someone that almost lost their money.

I get what you saying but her saying he must wanna take her out in a date because he dropped his walled wouldn’t have made sense within the context of what happened. She was basically saying if she found a random wallet with money in it she’d use the money to do her nails.

I don’t think it was that serious.

Maybe my comprehension is horrible but I certainly didn't get that from OP's story and after re-reading a couple of times still not getting this from OP's story.

I've heard different things when people lose money but not someone suggesting you spend the money that you were about to lose on them, because they would've taken it otherwise. This is the first time hearing this.

And is probably why, if it was a joke, it didn't land to me.
