But in all honesty, you got the answer twice. It's really that simple, as for actually having a quality GIF available at the right time, I recommend making a photobucket account or something and keep them on there. The only disadvantage to that is that your GIF's can be tracked at that point.
Add [ IMG] infront of the link.
Add [ /IMG] at the end.
No spaces in the brackets though.
A good way to see it how it's done is quote someone who posted a GIF and look at the message body before you post it so you can see how it's formatted.
