Enjoy it but be responsible leave drunk girls alone.
Don’t drown yourself in debt, whether that’s college or a car. Pay for everything in cash until you understand credit and self-discipline. Start learning about money management and taxes now.
Take risk regarding jobs at a young age, businesses, traveling around. Do things you are afraid of doing.
Discipline, learn to manage yourself and the things you want to learn/build in life.
Become self-sufficient - feeding yourself, where you get your resources from, your everyday goal is to get closer to only depend on yourself.
Get off the computer, social media and lay out a plan on who you want to be - focus on that every morning.
Biggest advice: learn from others before and around you mistakes.

If you have any career questions pm me
Might take a while to answer but I will

You young so take advantage of the opportunity. Like others have said, save your money. Focus on growth now. Don't waste your money partying or doing dumb shyt. You not old enough yet but when you old enough to go clubbing, you gonna see it's the same shyt every time. Don't waste your money on that. Stay focused on school and take advantage of any family support you can get. You'll see that things will be way easier if you take advantage now instead of later. Save as much as possible so you can enjoy it when it matters. Good luck breh. We know you can do it. :salute:

Smash as many girls raw as you can. Before 18 your body creates these agents that make getting STD’s nearly impossible and if the girls get pregnant get an abortion their bodies can handle it easier at that age, Good luck :myman:

whats your situation? You gonna get kicked out your parents house when you turn 18?

Adulthood comes with more responsibility but it comes with power too

Don’t rush into college unless you’re absolutely sure what you’re want to do. If that requires starting at 19 or 20 so be it because that debt is no joke

Try to read at least one book a month

Start saving like a mad man

Good luck. You’re pretty much grown now but you’re still young. Don’t try to have a second childhood. That’s what I did and I’m still paying for it, embrace adulthood and leverage your parents generosity if it’s available to you
False!!! Go to your local community college and major in liberal arts. You'll take all the general education classes you would take at a 4 year university. Get your associates and figure it out from there. Community college is a very affordable option to pursue while you're figuring life out

That’s still like a grand per semester though. I got my associates from a CC and it was a waste of money

He can get financial aid if he qualifies. It costs $$ to make $$. He needs to set himself up to capitalize on future opportunities. He might decide he wants a bachelors after completing an associates. And to be honest. If im looking at 2 young potential hires, 1 has an associates and the other only a high school diploma, guess who im taking.

Where the hell does this "you'll be aight" mentality come from? 17 is relatively late if you don't already know what you plan to do in your adult life.

No it's not. Come on now.

I respectfully disagree. Sure, many of us are able to eventually figure it out after bumping our heads a LOT of times along the way but far too many people end up in careers where they are unfulfilled, unhappy and underpaid because without a plan, you position yourself to have to jump at whatever seemingly good opportunities present themselves.

He's not even 18. He suppose to have his future planned today and then do it for the rest of his life?:usure:

BP, you know good and well I'm not suggesting he have his entire future planned out but he's 17 and talking about he feels Black boys are rushed into adulthood. I believe Black boys should have an idea of what they want to do as a career by the time they reach high school and from there they should focus on moving towards that so by the time they get to college they can hit the ground running or if they decide against college in favor of a trade, they can immediately jump into that.

Too many of us don't know what we want to do after we've graduated high school and as a people, that's simply a luxury we don't have.

I assume you haven't even finished high school yet. Have you applied to college? Does your school have a collegiate counselor's office where they help you put together college applications and figure out what scholarships you're eligible for?
