I'm far from being a Kanye West fan, but this is the only Kanye West album I can listen to all the way through. The album flows better than all of his other albums. All of the songs sound good and the sequencing on this album was amazing. The guest features were on point too :wow:

I don't even see how it can be up for debate either :yeshrug:

Kanye has never been a great rapper though. He's average at best. But this is the one album that his rapping actually sounds good because he's not trying so hard with it. It just flows.

The first two albums had better raps IMO...but music wise Graduation is the best musical album he's put together as a whole. I prolly listen to Graduation more than any other Ye album, as well. But, I can't think of one memorable line of that album. The way him and Wayne ruined that "Barry Bonds" beat. :snoop:

:what:

this is probably his weakest rap album, breh. probably his weakest album period. it's a good album but it's way too polished imo.

-that 'home' remake w/o john :scusthov:
-lamest features of all his albums
-trying to hard to be relevant with that toomp track
-rappin over left over common beats
-least provocative lyrics

and those are just my qualms with it off top.

the videos and the album art were fly and it was a step in the right direction but to say this album is better than the first 2, let alone say it's irrefutable is foolish.

His raps on The College Dropout sound amateur as hell. Late Registration is an ok album but I never got the hype that album received. It's never wowed or amazed me they way it has to most and many people. But Graduation has it all in my opinion; the lyrics (for as good as Kanye can get), the beats, the production, the sequencing etc.

Memorable line? He opened the album with a very humorous and memorable line:

"Wake up Mr. West, Mr. West. Mr. Fresh, Mister - by hisself he's so impressed. I mean damn, did you even see the test? You got D's, m'uhfukker D's! Rosie Perez"

Kanye "spitting straight fire" never happens. Dude's not that nice on the mic. At best, he's just a bit better than Diddy on the mic. But neither are what I consider great rappers. Heck, Kanye (Diddy too) is more of an entertainer than he is a rapper. The production carries him on the mic.

The "Home" remake was good, the features were good, the and Toomp song is one of his best singles co produced by someone else. Common should've kept those beats too. The beat for "Everything I Am" was nice, with John Legend's singing in the background, so soulful.

As for the "least provocative lyrics", Kanye sounded relaxed on the album and the album has a complete sound.

Crack Music was unbelievable lyrically, THE fukk are you talkin bout bro..

He bodied Lil Wayne on Barry Bonds, who is supposedly the nicest MC post 2000

You mean to tell me Brand New is even close to Diddy's level of lyricism?

that verse is STRAIGHT FIRE my nikka

Hey Mama, Addiction, Gone, come on son :beli:

not saying he GOAT but you can't ignore his presence on the mic. nikkas really comparing him to Diddy :heh: :beli:

Graduation is my favorite Kanye album ever and honestly in my top 10 albums of all time. It flows the best of all his albums and has the least filler. LR was real close but it had too much going on in parts. He also stepped up his rap cadence and flow on Graduation as well. It coulda been Sean and others stepping in with writing that helped. The singles were classic as well. Stronger, Flashing Lights, Can't Tell Me Nothing, Big Brother. ALL CLASSICS.

Not to mention this came out the year I was graduating from high school too. Haha.

This is my favorite Kanye album, and it has my favorite Kanye song Flashing Lights.

"I'm just saying hey Mona Lisa, come home
You know you can't Rome without Caesar"

When I think of someone who's nice lyrically, I'm thinking of someone like GZA, Nas, or Jay Electronica. Kanye's nowhere being as nice on the mic as those cats are. He's not even in the same conversation or arena as those cats are. It's impossible to even compare him to them.

And Kayne being compared to Diddy isn't a bad thing. Diddy always has some entertaining moments on the mic. These songs are what they are, nothing more, nothing less; good catchy songs:
