yo the title of this thread is really counter intuitive. Not being a fan of Kanye and thinking graduation is his best work go hand in hand

C'mon dude they ain't even seeing the first 2 :heh:

I think it's fair to say college drop out and late registration are both damn near classics ... but IMO after each album he has gradually got worse. Or maybe he's just changed his style too much for a hip hop head to stay buying his music. He lost me years ago. If he stuck to his formula then I'd still listen to the guy.

Kanye is not as lyrically great as Nas, GZA or Jay Electronica. Never has been, never will be.

And while he maybe has had more impact (depending on who you ask, like in reference to Billboard charts in particular) than those three cats, so did MC Hammer (again, depending on who you ask and in reference to what you're talking about, like Billboard charts), so that's not saying much at all. :manny:

naw nikka, his impact has nothing to do with awards or charts, don't try to bring old cacs that don't listen to rap into this. Jesus Walks was playin in the club & U.O.E.N.O it.

if you take all 4 of those nikkas out of the game, who you think will be the most missed? Seriously. Give a real nikka credit where it's due

Let me put it like this, Kanye is Pop music and has been for quite sometime. Nas, GZA and Jay Electronica, they are Hip Hop. :youngsabo:

If he stuck to his initial formula he'd be 50 cent status right Now. Probably wouldn't be anything for you to listen to.

A n*gga can make Pop music and still make some dope sh*t. But it is what it is and that's Pop, not Hip Hop. :aicmon:

what makes this pop exactly? cause as far as i'm concerned hip hop samples breaks from ANY genre

tired of nikkas calling some shyt "real hip hop" just cause it got some Primo boom bap sound :dahell:

Here's a question, what doesn't make it Pop? :manny:

the FACT that this song paved the way for hip hop culture for years to come

the sounds of this & Stronger are identical, just cause cacs like it too doesn't mean it's pop :beli:

I see you couldn't answer my question so I'll just end the convo here.
