Of course thats not how it is nowdays as NYC is the safest big city in North America

Lived there on and off in the early 90s. Mostly in Long Island, but went to Manhattan quite often (grandfather and uncle stayed in Dyckman Projects). Pretty wild from what I understand, but nothing personally happened to us.
