There was no point in him even saying this non sense. He made 27 mil last year and will make 30 mil next year.YOU gonna take a pay cut whether you resign with the lakers or go to another team.

He won't anymore championships so I can understand him wanting to make as much dough as he can but be real

why even mention KG in the article? he's had like 3 max deals in his career. he's probably #1 on the all time NBA salary list.

why should the best player on the team take a pay cut?

if anything the rest of the Lakers roster should take pay cuts considering Kobe carried them all last season

Kobe earns his money. Just ask yourself this. Would you take a pay cut in your job so your boss can sign another employee? Or would you rather get paid what the market will bear?

Kobe is just being a p*ssy as usual. LeBron, D-Wade & Chris Bosh all took pay cuts for the betterment of the Heat and now they are 2 time (back to back) World Champions! Nothing wrong with getting paper & maximizing your profits, especially in the cutthroat professional sports industry, but if Kobe wants to win a another ring or two he should be willing to take a small pay cut which would allow the Lakers to get a competitive, formidable squad. Plus if Kobe & the L.A. Lakers are successful in winning more NBA championships, Kobe would make the lost revenue back (and even more) via new or existing endorsements.

joe johnson #7 all time :dwillhuh:

the list includes his entire current contract cuz its guarunteed, but this is joe johnson's 2nd max deal. the first one was from the hawks when he was a free agent with the suns, where they offered him like 5 years $70M. then he got this one for 6 years $120M.

Not that I have a problem with Kobe wanting all of his money (I would too!) but of course he says this the day after it's announced that the Lakers will use their amnesty provision on Artest. To be fair he was asked a question, but I guarantee he wouldn't have said that shyt before the Lakers picked who they were gonna use the amnesty on.
