You should care about the world around you. It may seem (And most of the time be 100% true) like a vote doesn't make a difference, but not voting at all sends an even deeper message. Look at what's being done to our communities when they know we are watching and speaking out against it, can you imagine what would happen if they knew none of us cared. Voting isn't enough by itself either, but doing nothing at all should never be an option and from your OP I'm assuming you aren't out here organizing any protests either. Being 22 and not registered to vote is a shame, especially considering how people died for you to have the right to vote.

Your right, unless its a direct democracy (like issues are voted upon by the people) then its pointless to vote. There are 535 members of the senate and congress, say a company like Exxon mobile lobbies them and gives a million each to 60% of them(60% and over means even the president cant veto, automatic law). So for $321 million dollars, Exxon runs our government. Exxon has billions in reserves so this is nothing to them.......our government is a joke.

Only thing I'd be critical of you for is not being informed. I've never understood wanting to keep one's head in the sand. Very few things I find less attractive in a woman than purposeful ignorance.

I will say, dont suscribe to the whole notion of "they died for your right to vote" as if you're obligated to vote. I hate that mentality. No, they died for your right to have a choice. Thats called freedom. Far too many Black people champion collectivism. Besides, considering you admitted to not being informed, that's a good enough reason in itself why you shouldnt be voting anyway.
