I'm officially convinced despite all the tough talk of Americans, walking them into authoritarianism will be pretty easy.

I'm not sure how, but Americans really fell for the lie that peaceful protest is all we need and a fully peaceful revolution is possible.

The harsh truth is people on both sides need to be badly injured/die. I mean I hate it like everyone else but please look through all eras of history and tell me the one constant of every single big social change or revolution :yeshrug:

You can go back 4-5 years to the pandemic and it will tell you exactly what you need to know. 80% of people will bow down, no matter how much shyt they talk; even when numbers don't add up and shyt doesn't make sense
:comeon: :comeon: :comeon: :comeon:Bruh with the bad takes is back. Comparing a fukking global health emergency with a facist takeover.

What did you see during the pandemic that makes you say this?

Main reason is that all the things that are done preceding it are not something people feel immediately. It's mostly abstractions like a process or law not being followed that doesn't have any immediate victims or the victims are marginalized or small enough for most people to not care.

Most people aren't going to disrupt their own lives to get out there and do something about some private foreign individual messing around with the treasury doing who knows what. It's not impacting them now. It's an abstract "wrong" to them. They will say it's wrong but something being wrong isn't enough to get people off their ass.

People aren't going to get upset enough at the setup of an authoritarian government, they will only care with the results of the setup at a later date and by then those in power have most likely already fortified their defense against mass outrage and it's too late without a lot bloodshed taking place.

This country is going to look totally different in a year and definitely in four. It hasn't even been a month and look what has happened.

Good luck brehs.
Literally JUUUUUST had this convo with a doctor and tech in my office this morning.

You think there was no reason to stop public events and close businesses FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME while thousands of people were dying and hospitals were filled with mothafukkas on beds in the fukkin lobby, making everybody else sick.

Let me hear your stupid ass answer breh.

Yeahhhhh because last thing I remembered during the pandemic that dumb ass folks if anything fought tooth and nail over a fukking mask, and staying inside versus obliging and trying to survive such a terrible time :why:

Just reading the aftermath of the destruction of the department of education alone sends chills down my spine.

My wife used to work for head start programs, and hell I used to teach in a non profit facility. This shyt is going to hurt them to a point of no return :francis: .

But on the real, most of these places needed to wake up especially concerning community. Word to the place I worked for that used to mismanaged funds and didn't help with my direction of trying to have GED programs and etc for folks trying to do more than get a fukking job.

And this was like a decade ago...

americans are cowards imo. There should be mass vigilantism. Its what normal societies do when people lose their minds and change too many things in too short a timespan. Paris would have burned to the ground by the third day after inauguration with the speed in which trump is enacting things. Americans are like "who is gonna do something?"

Luigi and like-minded people.

George Carlin said it best.

If everyone now than then we go to congress and chop a few random heads off, you would see them start acting in our interests real quick.

The only reason they act this way, is because they BELIEVE they are untouchable. Once that belief is shattered, they move differently. There is a reason you allow criminal organizations to exist BUT crack down on the them, the second they think they are capable of taking over. Reality has to be "the moment you step out of our predetermined amount of acceptance, violence will occur."

McDowell's
Mass shootings are the number one killer of children in America.

If we can't protect the country's most vulnerable and its future, we can't do anything right.

that's not even the worst thing this cowardly country fails at. it's just one that disappointed me the most and let me know it's over for this place.
