I'm officially done with Madden

Absolutely no offense to the OP, but this is what pushed you over the edge with this series?
Not the minimalistic innovation?
Not the lack of improvements?
Not the constant taking things out only to put them in back at a later date?
Not the fact that the crap that you see on your screen when playing Madden, is not a semblance of what you see in real life NFL on Sundays?
Not the fact that they don't build on their highly touted features on a year-to-year basis?
But this is what sent you over the edge

This situation reminds me of a girl who's been getting Thor's hammer laid upon her for about a decade straight by her fukked up boyfriend and the abuse she endured wasn't enough to make her leave. No, but one day, she was promised by the guy that he was going to buy her a new dress, and when that didn't happen, that's when she had an epiphany & realized that she didn't want to be in the relationship any longer and finally decided to leave .

Madden has been fukked up for literally almost a decade straight and you expected them to be different because of the launch of the new consoles? Didn't you learn from Madden 06's launch on the Xbox 360? Hardware doesn't change one's philosophy to rest on their laurels.

Anyways, I'm glad that you've finally woke up. Hopefully you don't go back to the nikka after he shows up at your doorstep with the dress in hand .

R* needs to spend some of the billion they made on football. R* already have a deal with Natural Motion (Backbreaker). Hell GTA 5 talks about football on one of the radio stations within the game. Think how dope dlc with Backbreaker in GT5 where we could bet on teams or play in a fictional playoff. I kno its a pipe dream. But imagine the detail R* would bring to football just focusing on like 8 teams

and the crazy thing is this is just the launch title.....look back at how NBA 2K6 looked like when it launched on Xbox 360 and compare it to 2K11 just 5 years later

2K is also putting out a launch title and they have shown us a product that is above and beyond their already great game. The fact Madden couldn't even make the next gen games look marginally better lets me know they have officially given up on trying to make their games better. I'm not buying a new system just to play the same game I could on my 360.

I'm not going to speak on your personal expectations for a game, but what I will say is that "decent" wasn't and isn't enough to please me as a consumer and a NFL fan, especially given the fact that I can do a direct comparison with a game that was released 4 years prior on weaker hardware and Madden 09 still wouldn't be able to compare favorably - Same thing Madden 13. I don't think the series has been able to produce a game better then NFL 2K5 since the exclusive license, and that's absolutely pathetic, and that's what I deem as INEXCUSABLE.

The NBA 2K series has shown that they can not only appeal to the most hardcore of basketball fans, but they've actually appealed to both casuals and non-gamers alike by growing the basketball market, which is reflected in their sells ever since Jordan appeared in the game. Madden on the other hand, despite how popular the game of NFL football is in America, and despite the fact that they do hold the entire market to themselves via exclusivity, have not shown to be able to do the same - the dwindling sales reflect that. They don't appeal to the hardcore because Madden is too arcadey, and they don't appeal to the casual because it lacks polish, shine, and that overall "it" factor. What are you left with in Madden? A game that tries to appeal to both, but end up isolating both crowds because the game in itself is just one big cluster fukk.

In short, 2K's basketball series been on another level from that of Madden, but I guess you needed visuals in order to put things in perspective for you this because it hasn't been close from a technical standpoint as far as which game does the better job of simulating its respective sport.

just watched a video comparison of 2k5 vs Madden 12 and Real talk, i have 2k5 but never even opened the game i still have 2k5 in its original package but watching that vid makes me wanna break that shyt out, find my ps2 av cables and play the shyt outta that game. its literally shattin on EA's last 9 Maddens

You guys need to give up on the 2K talk. They're never, ever gonna make another Football game again. They tried to skirt the issues with APF 2K8, and noone bought it. They're done.
