Hip-hop is embedded in us bro. You won't completely quit, but you'll give it a break. I gave it about three breaks over the last decade. :manny: Only so much you can hear a nikka shoot, sell crack, drive better cars than you, and other assorted shyt. nikka I got to work a 12 hour shift, I don't care about your chain breh.

I feel the same way, well at least about the new stuff. I like some of it but the vast majority is :trash:. It doesn't really matter to me though because I have my own personal collection of music, so as long as I can listen to that I don't care how bad the new shyt sounds.

People say this all the time but when you asked them how much hip hop they've looked for on their own without it being pushed on to them by "the industry" they say none.

There's a million rappers out here. There really is something for everyone.

But who's gonna shovel through the litany of terrible rappers just find a couple of gems?

Someone who is tired of the terrible rappers being shoveled onto their plate. Everyone here knows what kind of music they like and don't like.I'm not saying go get a thousand rappers albums and listen to all of them to find one you like. We got a hundred blogs and site putting up new music everyday, it only takes a minute to listen to see if its something you like or not. Hell you can ask people around you what they're checking for that's not really mainstream and you might find something you like.

not only that, but after a while it's almost like i've heard it all; from the public enemys to the rich homie quans. the shyt just gets old after a while.

and none of these new cats stand out to me, they ain't doin' nothin' better than what cats was already doin' 20 times better in the 90's and 80's imo :yeshrug:

that's thing man, i'm always listenin' to other genres. in a couple of hours i could go from bumpin' fleetwood mac in the whip to rakim to pearl jam to lionel richie etc

hip hop has just run it's course for me; because of the lack of findin' a lo of new hip hop music that really sticks to my taste buds, i've listened to the old classics so much that i'm now tired of them :yeshrug:

I dunno what to tell you...I actually feel spoilt with all this hiphop music but then my standards are lower because I look for brilliance in everything ....

I occasional bust out some blues though

then let it go.

I hate these people who hate rap, say they're done with it, but stick around all the time to say they hate rap and they're done with it. It's a different time. Times change, interests change. I can still find 10 albums, 10 mixtapes and 200 songs minimum each year to listen to. That's good enough for me.

Entertainment as it is just will never be the same.

You're not wrong for feeling that way.shyt is dead. When you have to "look hard" to find it, that tells you all you need to know.

The essence/noosphere of hip hop is played the fukk out right now
For real. Dude said earlier that there's a million rappers, and that's a large part of the problem. A million rappers and a million producers, much of which sound mediocre and identical. Its too watered down and awful for me to be researching for non-crap. That's a needle in a haystack... I'll check for the few of the ones I been a fan of for years that still put out good music, and even that number is dwindling. I could care less about hearing new stuff now, I've heard enough over the years to know that I've long since heard the best hip hop will ever have to offer

Planet of Hip Hop
it ain't got that same excitement it once had. for me, listenin' to it now has became almost like a chore just to find somethin' new and even when i do find somethin' new and kinda of cool, it only sticks to me for like a minute. it ain't got no "stayin' power" as barry white use to say. hip hop is stale and played now (has been for close to 20 years) but it's now to the point where it's just flat out a parody of what it once was :camby:
:mjcry: sad but true
