I'd would choose Jersey if it's closer to NYC and I was making a permanent home. U always going to miss home. Philly is a bit further, and I lived there for two years, and traveled back to NYC all the time on weekend. It's just not NYC. To live in Philly permanently I'd never do. Great city though.

I feel that same way about Delaware and Philly :wow:

I got too many negative influences there. I had to force myself to leave and now force myself to stay gone. That homesickness is real though.

Mainly the noise, how close everyone and everything is to each other, the traffic, pollution, crime, overpopulation, gloomy weather... etc. I been in Brooklyn for 24 years of my life, with the other 3 in Florida. Florida was like a breath of fresh air. Truthfully, the south is real dope, depending on where you live though. There's so much more sunshine, freedom, quietness, land, and real estate down there. With all that said it's still "the south" you know, and I don't necessarily feel a sense of belonging there. The people are kinda slow, there's more racism and crookedness, and they're way too traditional down there. These were the only options on the East Coast city wise (though Boston is a thought). West Coast, outside of Cali (which will have a BIG earthquake really soon) is mostly white ppl (Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, Vegas) and I'm not trying to stick out like a sore thumb. If I were to go back South, I've got Dallas and Houston in mind. But I've heard good things about Philly. Jersey has a lot more driving jobs tho (I'm a CDL driver) and yeah, it's closer to Manhattan which is cool.

You listed so many reasons except police harassment. You've never had NYPD fukk with you? (you're black right?)

I been jonesing for a steak from Jim's....going to other places made me realize how beautiful the Philly area is too. Philly has some of the most beautiful countryside. I know alot of people dont care about that but, the rolling hills and quaint little towns around Philly are dope. You got the same feel inside the city too with Old City and Society Hill. Beautiful streets. Where am I now feels "too new" and "modern". Now I know what cacs mean when they say a place is sterile.

Leave Brooklyn for Philly:dahell:

I've heard great things about Philly lol. Never actually been tho. Planning a trip out there to see for myself...

This is probably true. I slowly realized when I left Florida and thought of my next move that I'll probably always feel like an outsider no matter where else I go. South Florida's different tho cuz mostly everyone's an outsider

You seem uncertain and it's not guarantee your next mvoe is your last. Just stay in NYC. :yeshrug:

What are you running from?

The overpricing, overcrowdedness, noise, no sense of peace, filth. After being here so long I can't help but focus on all the negatives. Living in the South gave me a sense of peace and calm that I hadn't got in NYC for a long time. Plus I like to drive also. NYC sucks for driving.

More so when I was younger. I used to get pulled over a couple times for my tints, only when I would be in Brownsville and East NY visiting friends or whatever. I'll never forget the time I was stopped and frisked. Get this tho... It was in a fukking cab bruh... It's late night and I'm headed to Coney island to chill with some friends and I'm in the back of the cab on my phone barely paying attention to anything else and next thing I know we're pulled over and the cops make me get out saying something about a check point and frisk me. Two big cacs looking like some steroid shooting frat boys. I had my pocket knife on me too but luckily he didn't feel that. I was so close to hiding it between the seats of the car but luckily I didn't cuz that's the first spot they checked. I still have no idea what that was all about cuz they didn't even bother to frisk the driver. But yeah I got a couple stories about NYPD. It's just been a long time since I've dealt with them like that, but remembering them now just adds to the cons of being here. NYPD have nothing to do but fukk with people. Don't know who's worse, NYPD or Miami police...

I've been in the same exact situation. It's just classic racial profiling.

I don't think you want to move to Philadelphia though...

You a CDL driver. Move to Houston. Have no problem getting a job in that field, and its plenty to do. Louisiana, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio have things to offer and are just a few hours drive away.

I'm debating if I want to move back to the Mid Atlantic (N.C. to MD) area in a year or two. Probably will. I like it out here in Houston though. If you want to give the South one more chance, then I would suggest Houston. Try it out for 18 months. If it ain't your steeze, then move to Philly and call it a day.

I've heard nothing but good things about Houston. A lot of guys in past driving jobs tried putting me on to Houston. San Antonio too.
