No. Puerto Rican is not a race, it’s a nationality.
She wants to be pedestalized by men because she’s MESTIZO, which is an ethnicity of Puerto Rico.
Mestizo and Black is not the same ethnicity.
Mestizos that have such attitudes is because they have more proximity to whiteness/non-Blackness.
People conflating Puerto Rican with non-Blackness is anti-Black within itself.
It’s like conflating American with Whiteness, preventing anti-Blackness to be analyzed in-depth.
I never made the points you have made. I did mention her being PR, but that's it! Never made the distinction between nationality and ethnicity.
I said that the caller seemed to be perplexed as to why the host preferred Blk women. I also mentioned that she came off of wanting to be pedestalized because she is PR. I don't know what she look like and I do know that there are Blk PRs, mixed ones and white ones.
I know from that clip that she isn't the most articulate woman our there and I am personally confused as to why the opinions of another man or other men matter to her since she is married?
Tbh, I don't care about ppl who have anti Blk sentiments. But, I also don't believe that all Hispanics are anti Blk nor do I believe that majority Hispanics are monolithic.
Some to many may feel one way while some to many feel another way. Only way to really know where you stand with someone is to deal with them on a personal level. *shrugs*
