That's great man.
I've been volunteering for about 6 or 7 years now in one way or another.
One of the best things I've been told is that you will not be able to help (save is the word she actually used) everyone. Some of those kids are gonna end up as screwed up as they woulda been anyway. And if you care, which one can assume you will since you're doing this in the first place, it hurts.
There's nothing like seeing someone you look at like a little cousin losing their way and on the corner or homeless or failing school. It sucks and it will happen.
On the other hand, there are clear cut examples where you help em out, they really do make something of themselves, and they thank YOU for that. That sticks with you forever.
Sounds like a great feeling :ahhh:
We had one dude, said in his family you're not a man til you've spent time in prison. Craziest thing I've ever heard anyone say. Went though our program, lost track of him and saw him at the store a few years later. Saw me, said hi but he was in a rush cuz he was studying for a biochem test the next day.
Look for something thats been around for a while. You might end up with some
good career contacts too so look who runs the organization. Good luck breh
