I think folks just got tired of FF's memory hogging, which is a legit gripe.

Chrome memory hogging is much worse and it creates multiple instances of the same process. Every browser has memory hogging "issues", it's just the nature of modern browsers. Buy a decent amount of ram and you won't even feel it.

How do I get rid of this redirect virus on Chrome? If I do a Google search on something and click on a result, it takes me to some other website before I can go to the page I want.

i got the same shyt. Just get any free anti virus program and run it and it should take care of it.

Firefox keeps crashing and locking up for me too. I use Chrome too but I'm about to give Opera a shot.

This. I think of the big 4 (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari), Chrome's a bigger memory hog than all of them.

I guess I'm the only one that still thinks Firefox >> Chrome? I switched back to FF awhile back and have been using it ever since. I like Safari more than both, but I've been having issues with my Safari constantly force quitting, and haven't really sat down to find the problem yet.

I think Opera gets slept on way too much on this site also. It's really a very good browser.

Opera does damn near everything these other browsers do first and usually better. If it had NoScript I'd jump.

For some reason Opera just never works for me, it's always messing up. Plus I don't like the way it handles bookmarks.

Yeah I may have spoken too soon. It doesn't let me use all of the features on the Coli and it keeps messing up when I try to open my Gmail. I'm gonna keep experimenting with it for a while though.
No it doesn't. None of the other browser extensions come close to Noscript. Trust me, I've tried each alternative on each browser and it's not the same. On sites where the real NoScript will show you 8-10 sites to block, the others show 1 or 2.
My mistake, that's a link for "NotScripts" :heh: I didn't catch that.

You right. Should't be like that though. Shouldn't need an 8 gig machine just to watch tube sites...

God Bless all flavors of linux
