I'm shocked as hell that the NBA Eastern Conference is real competitive this year

Cleveland and Miami are too good/talented to just say that San Antonio or Golden State or OKC would just run through them. Any of those series go at least six games and are tightly contested assuming full health.
Miami isn't in that conversation right now

Cleveland is the only team in the East that can give the top West teams a series

I still think its too early, but I will say that the East has proven me wrong so far this season. I'm impressed.

The West's superiority has been overblown for the most part (doesn't mean it didn't exist). They always had more pretenders than the East. Now the pretenders ain't pretending like they used to out west and you got more teams in the east pretending.

The Steve Nash 2000s Suns being the greatest pretenders of them all

A chance.

But the top 2 teams in the West (GSW and SA) would still completely destroy every team in the East.

So they're still the Leastern Struggle Conference as far as I'm concerned. 1 month of regular season play doesn't change shyt.
Healthy Cavs would beat both those teams

Ain't no one angry. Just not buying OPs statement of "real competitive" 6 weeks into the regular season.

"Real competitive" is the thread title. And that's where I disagree. Top 2 teams are in the West and would wash all the East teams now.

How exactly is that "real competitive?"

What about the Lebron Miami Heat era? The East had the favorites EVERY year but people said the East was just top heavy.

How is the West any different, this year? They have the absolute favorite but the East is missing a full strength Cavs and they're still looking top tier.

From top to bottom, the East looks far more competitive than West
