Like really there is this sentiment among some people that the world owe them or at least owes it to them to make things easier for them. They cant just take what they get and make something out of it. They always need to be GIVEN more. I mean i understand the whole notion of "just ask. The worst thing that could happen is they tell you no" but shyt can get a bit ridiculous.
The company i work for, last year offered to pay for these high tech bootcamps for employees who elect to sign up for it at a world renowned university that just happens to be local. This class typically costs anywhere from $10K-$12K for someone to attend. We got it for free with NO STRINGS ATTACHED as in you didnt have to pay back a penny even if you left the company immediately after. Some of the fukkas that took the class dropped out of it. A couple even completed it and used the skills they learned to get jobs paying them over $100K jobs for the first time in their lives....with other companies. One dude who came from a non-tech background went from making $70K to $110K within a week of completing the program.
So this week they announced the next session of bootcamps that the company was gonna pay for again except this time they will not pay for our parking passes at the university. The amount of complaints coming from the people especially those whom benefited from the previous program was disgusting. Another cat complained about the location and having to go through traffic to get to the campus and why the course cant e taught at our offices since it's sponsored by the company. Another complained about the company not providing meals since these classes run late into the evenings and "other companies do it...". I'm like "Meals??? Really, breh???" I sat there and looked at the HR director's (who sponsored the program) face as these ungrateful cat complained and complained and... you just know that look on a black woman's face when she's about to blow a gasket.
