I stopped after that first interruption in the video. I'm not here for the bashing.
No, her answer was reminding her that we live in a society that operates off of white supremacist/patriarchal/heteronormative systems that are designed to work against women of colour. Seems like she didn't get a chance to finish her response because she recognized that woman's vulnerability in that moment (looks like Melissa Harris Perry was wiping her tears for her after that hug).

Forget the feminist aspect of it.
That's only going to lead to bashing.
The essence behind her words is that she is struggling to pick herself up and rise out of her situation...and when people tear her down for her past (and perhaps repeated) mistakes, it only makes it tougher.
This is a real issue that a lot of real women in America have, and what is disturbing is that unfortunately there is a large swath of the public (and the coli) whose only response/solution is to belittle and marginalize them.

I watched some of that whole seminar awhile back and those woman were all over the place, I had no clue what they were talking about really... All I know is there is no black male privilege, neither do I agree with their grey area society where masculinity and femininity have no definition, nor do I agree with a society that is "equal" in power between male and female because that is impossible and just a pipe dream
