After mentioning that you were exhausted from the warm up, that's obvious :mjlol:

Just focus on getting in better shape, following instructions, and perfecting those break falls. You DO NOT want to land incorrectly.
Dude told me a guy in the class had to have rods put in his arms after landing wrong

I'm thinking, in a tournament, right?:ohhh:

nikkas get injured in class everyday, b :stopitslime:

If he got his arm broken so badly he needed surgery, it was probably one of two things. He most likely tried to post his arm(s) during a throw to avoid Ippon and paid the price. Your coach should discourage this risky tactic anyway...especially considering you're a beginner and may even be tempted by those online videos where judoka literally escape being thrown by cartwheeling. When it goes wrong, it really goes wrong...

Keep in mind that Yoshida is a former Olympic gold medalist. The year prior to this he won gold at the Judo World Champions.

It would also be no surprise if his injury was due to armlock submission. Judo referees give little time for newaza(ie ground fighting), so competitors are taught to finish submissions quickly. He may have had little time to tap before his arm was broken.

Tried boxing but my eyesight is so shyt I knew I wouldn’t get very far.

Been back to BJJ for almost 3 months now, very grateful I get to participate in a sport I love in some capacity. Taking a lot more ibuprofen than I used to in my first training stint, so I’d imagine judo would be rough.
